We’re having another PvP tournament this saturday, the biggest changes to rules are:

  • 3 HP/EP pots max per round
  • all items found on your PvP char are allowed
  • no component crafting

PvP Tournament Round 2:
Date: 1st of August 2020
Time: 7PM GMT+2 / 1PM EST
Arena: Boris’ pit

To participate you need the expansions!
Just let @MikeFic_YT or me know if you wanna sign up!

Preparation Rules:

  • new character, created at start of tournament. Name your char after the name you chose in the signup.
  • timelimit to prepare your char: 1h 30 min SSF (no shared stash or GD stash)
  • level cap: 20

combat rules:

  • UPDATE: NO INQSITOR’S SEAL (banned due to making you literally invincible with minimal investment)
  • max 3 HP/EP pots per duel
  • itemization: everything goes (+MI +blues)
  • components: no crafting, but all ssf components are allowed
  • no other consumables (aether clusters, ointments, etc.)

tournament mode:

  • double elimination Bo3
  • Bo5 for semifinal, losers’ final and grand final (1 win advantage for semifinal winner)

Disqualification for:
lvl > 20
using GD stash or shared stash

I’m on vacation rn and didn’t have the time to do a match compilation for this one before that.

Can’t find it right now, but it was a stun jacks+ storm box purifier that had some “of mending” suffixes. Apparently, HP regen in the early game is broken, so players also decided against hardcapping skills like Blood of Dreeg and Pneumatic Burst.

All active heals were restricted to one point only, inquisitor’s seal banned and HP regen auras restricted to 4 points max (not counting +skills from gear).

The winner used a combination of HP regen, stun jacks, storm box+tether, which slow and apparently always hit regardless of OA/DA and vendor farming for of mending affixes to win. Due to the rather small arena, boris’ pit, both strom box’s tether and storm totem (which wasn’t played, but tested to be also very strong) were undodgeable.

Another nerf to storm box inc? :upside_down_face:

I can provide a proper feedback thread to the overall situation of PvP balance once I’m back from my vacation, if you are interested.

Not being able to PvP in the crucible is kind of a bummer though. The size of the arena would probably be perfect. Maybe we can get a “crucible of PvP” in a future patch? :thinking:
