Quoting myself but. Went through the augment lists and my 85s to see what changed.

Results:

  • bleed resist on cairn’s hope - good
  • outcast’s bastion resist nerfed - bad

other than that, nothing notable really. yeah, sure the dmg augments are noticeably stronger, but:

They’re not strong enough that you’d want to drop a piece of damage gear for a resist gear and use a damage augment instead, because most of the time the dmg gear will give you useful +skills, while the resist-stick gear will not.

So you’re still going to be using resists augments.

Sure, now some typed dmg augments have resists too - but they’re mostly of the same type.

If you’re in ultimate, and you have good enough gear to survive - the wall hasn’t changed - that resist will be maxed, basically all of the time.

The builds take those will not be ones making use of the damage %s - instead it will be like all the current builds that deal 0 chaos damage but take black tallows to shore up chaos resists.

If you really want people to use them more in ultimate, then the sources of rare resists - aether, chaos, etc - have to become stronger or more widely usable so that builds actually have the room to use the dmg augments.
