But the devs can make some other skills ‘shared cooldown’ and change them to be more powerful / viable without risking to make them broken. It is a good mechanic that might be potentially used for other skills like Overguard, blade barrier and others. Nerf for Mirror and MoT was a bit too much imo. Those who don’t play Spellbinders might ask ‘why you nerf us?’. As a single skill none of the two is op.

These changes sure do look exciting but my game doesn’t work anymore. I get to loading screen with crate logo and it crashes there. I never get to screen with characters and menu. Never had trouble before. Verified install, reinstalled, don’t know what else to do.

but i have a little question beside the awesome things, why gets blade spirit a massive buff with the permanent pet option and wind devils not? I mean wind devils using the same game mechanics, why cant they get the same awesome buff as well?

dunno if I would say they use the same mechanics, wind devil has a third of the cooldown and can apply a constant fumble/RR effect. That said it’s probably not a bad idea. Resummoning things is anti fun! :mad::mad::mad:

What if Discord not only converted physical to elemental but also gave flat elemental?

I have three different lightning vindicators at level 100. The changes won’t affect campgain because that is easy enough for well geared builds but for crucible hot damn my vindicators already have a very tough time surving 150-170. 20k life can evaporate in 0.5 seconds due to shotguns, low armor, low physical resist low DA/OA inherent to the class, and enemies that hit like a freight train on steroids.

  • Aura of censure % damage reduction reduced to 15 - this is massive see above how the heck can I melee as a vindicator? my best one based on savagery with some sick gear got wrecked 50% of the time depending on mutators and nemesis combo pre nerf.

  • nerfed inquistor seal to the ground yet again. I’m so glad I’ll still be safe from low level AoE’s while leveling in veteran with that 190 reduced damage. It’s going to make all the difference vs double reapers hitting for 5k damage 3x per second each. At ultimate ranks 20+ it still didn’t do enough against strong shotguns 2 nerfs ago when it scaled to like 400 damage reduction.

  • buffed savagery and nerfed primal strike (through Ultos set nerfs). Why? Primal strike already needs periodic “casting” of savagery to even think about staying competitive (which is a PITA mechanic) Even then savagery is still quite a bit better at single target DPS which is what counts in the crucible. By end game almost any build has many good AoE options to wreck trash mobs through devotions and skills.

  • Storm Totem nerf - well not so imporant but still a nerf to my electrocution caster who did mediocre single target damage by stacking multiple weak AoE’s like storm totem. This isn’t a massive change for him but it’s a nerf to caster variant that was “good” and very far from a god tier build.

  • Just a massive FU to all my Vindicators. Making a squish class even more squish along with yet more reasons to choose savagery over primal strike.

Am I the only one who feels that Fire Strike skill needs some buff? Recently I tried to play around with Defailer build based on vitality FS usage with this mace

That’s more of an issue of Defiler just sucking in general than Fire Strike itself. Because every other variant of Fire Strike is still strong, mainly fire and lightning.

And what about other FS build variants like acid, aether and chaos?

For ranged its good with brimstone. With melee its good with the Barthollem’s Warmaul. Otherwise it is just an inferior version of Savagery.
Edit: If you can make use of static strike it can also add fairly high levels of flat damage to your attacks (It becomes huge at over capped levels).
Which one of the things I have against the skill, too many damage types. Having fire, chaos, physical and lightning damage in one skill is a bit to many for my tastes.

One thing I do not understand why the main skill has +%physical damage. Seems entirely pointless at end game, as I see not much of a reason to create physical damage based firestrike.

Chaos is solid with Darkblaze. Dunno about Aether, but that Dreadscorcher two handed rifle looks cool now with the 25% weapon damage mod to FS plus lightning and chaos to aether on FS. Have no clue on acid.

Odd, being as all of its myriad damage types can easily be converted to Physical with one item.

This does not constitute a bad skill, it just means it has several options with great item support which is a good thing.

Look at Phantasmal Blades as an example - it is a mix of Pierce, Vitality, Bleeding, Cold and Chaos of which 3-4 when focused on can make strong endgame builds. Pierce isn’t great compared to the others but is at least passable overall.

:smiley: How could I forget. I guess that is one thing I overlooked. If you max the whole fire strike line you would end up with a ton of physical damage.

Still it seems bit of a niche build. It would be nice to have the main skill increase Fire, lighting or even chaos damage instead as far more build would see a use out of that.

True but in PB there are number of ways to convert from one damage type to another these are largely lacking for a ranged fire based fire strike build(though the patch did add 2 chaos to fire gear, however problematic their gear slot is).
Adding more ways to convert lighting and chaos damage to fire would be a good way of making the skill more useful

It will not be as good as magical fire strike variant, because with physical, you need to deal with enemy armor flat absorb. You can reduce physical res, but not armor.

Fire strike is not savagery or cadence where you hit the enemy with big fat WD, where armor is irrelevant. Fire strike deal small small damage clustered/shotgunning together to the enemies, which will get reduced by enemy armor significantly.

You guys just destroyed one of my favorite build. I was playing Venom Blade set with ring of steel and it was pretty cool, not op and descent and you guys just make this set as boring as all others amastras blade burst sets for a reason that I can’t tell, as you to. My plan was to play the new expension with this but now, no lol. What an achievement gg. I don’t know what was the plan with this :furious:

If you don’t see it, chances are it’s not there.

Hopefully FG will bring some acid RoS support (with a new set o stand alone items). Vemomblade RoH was not that strong to begin with. It had nice AoE but that was kind of it. I’m sure Acid RoH will be back somehow.

As for new Venomblade, playing it as Dervish class in FG is an experience you will not regret, I can say that much;)
