Grim Dawn Version 1.3.0.8

You can do that officially, sanctioned by the devs, with the in-game Altar and even get rewarded for it?

Because i don’t want base Ascendant to be made braindead easy to appease casuals, and then have to use mats that only work for one session if i want any challenge.

Base Ascendant should be hard already. And if the casuals want to be in it, learn the game.

Why would there not be the same demands for the altar +difficulty to be nerfed. All the same arguments could be made.

You can also try ReShade. It’s very flexible and configurable.

Sure, and if it’s unreasonable it will most likely fall on deaf ears. I don’t see Zantai nerfing the Ascendant mode in its entirety anytime soon. IMO it shouldn’t see any nerfs at all at this point and the trend seems to go in the other direction anyway, considering the probability for upcoming redesigns/uber versions of older bosses like Theodin and Korvaak for the Ascendant mode.

If you want more difficulty you could always try to do a level 100 hardcore, classless run.
It still boggles my mind that a few people have actually managed it. Mad respect to them all.

Yup. That’s my only beef with the altar as an option for an Ultimate+ option. That, and the fact I need to get to Fort Ikon and 1/3 of FoA before I can access it.

Since Ultimate itself feels like a field trip with the kids, there’s really no option for challenging levelling in the game, where I like to spend the most time with my builds.

Still, Ascendant mode is much better than SR or Crucible for an endgame experience. That was thankfully taken care of. I can’t complain much…

I think herein lies this the typical issue. It’s different when and where that feel is so it’s impossible to appease everyone. I think the Altar is pretty much the best thing, to let everyone tinker themselves with some additional difficulty now to get that feel (unless someone wants to use the altar to make it easier… :kissing_smiling_eyes: )

If it’s just about making everything a bit harder and you don’t care about the rewards, using Aether crystals is not unreasonable or expensive at all. It’s an abundant resource that is easily and quickly farmable. You can just run Warden Cellar at the start of your session and fill the Altar for +150% Health/+150% Damage. It takes ~20 seconds.

Loxmere is the worst MF there is

If he were to get an Ascendant extra-boosted version, he could be the most feared purple boss in the game.

Did Loxmere kinda break for anyone else recently? He does not use nullify when I fight him

Is nullify chance 100%? He has a 30 second delay after first cast.

Maybe he’s missing with the first one and I just don’t notice him casting it? But I don’t know if he can really be ‘missing’ with a spell if he’s casting it directly on us

Every monster skill with a recast ability has a %chance hidden stat; attackChance is what I think to remember is called. It essentially determines if they actually cast it at every delay interval. There’s a Windows tool that allows us to see that. AFAIK, not always they are set at 100%. Could be the case, although I would be surprised if they set that nerf on Loxmere. Especially with such a high delay.

EDIT: DBR Editor is the tool name, after a quick search.

Please revert this (or fix it, but no point wasting time there).
As has been noted above, it makes spotting Reflective Heroes easier… which is useless information, while hiding the useful information (when the Reflective Aura is actually active).
Bad change.

if Loxmere is now boss unit then please remove him from Normal/Elite just to do faction quest in peace or farm MI equip and challenge him on Ultimate with geared/leveled character. thanks in advance

This will come in hand for my three-handed character!
No, seriously. It is enough slap in the face to remove a fitting health-regen from this shield, but adding 2 two-handed bonuses to it is adding injury to insult. Do I have to say it? You either wear a shield or a two-handed weapon - never both.
