Are the performance issues, especially in FoA areas, possibly linked to shader setting higher than medium, being looked into ?
Don’t think the FoA performance issues people are having were even acknowledged, yet.
Nice job guys, keep the patches coming.
Hindering it from simply being a better or more complete game? Have an actual endgame that requires you to do shit? It’s quite obvious.
To make it have depth and meaning for people who love to play one character for longer than hitting level 94, which there are many?
What’s the point in grind and striving build perfection or challenges for it to face against if everything in the game fkn dies with not even completed barebones builds version that even happen to have missing pieces or lack reputation for augments. There is no goal.
What’s the point of playing a Ultimate difficulty character other than farming some materials, blooms or items(optional) for your next build.
if the game had the depth and meaning, the difficulty that keeps you engaged to keep on improving your character further and further you would always have shit to fuck around with or do. It’s supposed to have a higher and higher ceiling that rewards you with actual progress which is unique to that specific activity? Not clear some meme SR to get same loot as from a totem or kill a superboss to get another meme semi-useless helmet.
Will that make them suddenly sell a noticable amount of copies of the game? Will an ascension mode that is “not for suckers” make them sell 50% more copies of the FoA DLC?
The loot farm in this game is kinda always been meme, but I do not think that is why we play it?
Grim Dawn is more about making a lot of builds rather then spending a ton of time on one. Always have been that way and I do not want it otherwise. I would even lean more into it.
Yeah I see Grim Dawn more of a “creative outlet” than some mega grind sitting in excel spread sheets to optimize my build ala Path of Exile. Fuark I played one char almost 600 hours last leauge in SSF, crazy and epic but now I need 6 months rest from that game ![]()
What I do not like about ascendancy mode is that not all things in the game are “ascendent” i.e. becomes harder and more rewarding. Shattered Realm and celestials are not affected. Like why should I do ravager or calla in asc mode when I already can do them in ult to test my build and “playing skills”? I hope that will come eventually…
But making hard content for a very few people… it kinda reminds of a gym - why should a gym have dumbells above 50 kg? Less than 1 % of the gym members will ever use them, only 1/3 of those who will use them are “natty”. They cost a fortune, they take up space… just to make the gym more complete?
Not that your perception is “wrong”, but I haven’t felt that in 200+ hours. Good double rares are still extremely uncommon. Sets can be assembled somewhat reliably if there’s a blueprint, but you still need to find the blueprint and you still need a ton of resources. Many useful items are gated behind a single enemy at the end of a dungeon, and a low drop chance. And if you split playtime between SC and HC, you get double the grind.
Sounds like you want the true endgame with scaleable difficulty and rewards. But like, ultimately it’s SR/Crucible’s job, isn’t it? Ascendant’s baseline is higher but it’s still a finite thing.
For me, I like that baseline Ascendant is a way to farm for FoA upgrades without paying rare materials at the Altar. So for me the changes that make it less of a gear check are super welcome.
Yeah I’m the same way. It’s fun to play while I’m getting upgrades, so I don’t really want to “finish” the character just to access the basic endgame farm.
Thing about SR is that you do not get more or better rewards after a certain point.
And monster totems in ultimate are kinda broken, at least when it comes to random legandary drops. I would tune them so that only ancient totems can drop legendaries, and if they do - max one per totem. I would also get rid of set items as blueprints. Completing a leg set is not that time consuming as it used to be. But, even back in the days before monster totems and such, I did not play Grim Dawn for the loot farm - there are other arpgs for that stuff
Well if it doesn’t serve its purpose it can be updated.
I notice you’re a big fan of sarcasm and hyperbole. That’s the best thing that ever happened in human communications since fall of Babylon.
Thank you! Now, please add an option to lock the cursor to the window in borderless mode.
Zantai thanks to you and the Crate team for all your hard work in giving us a great game.
Thank you Zantai and everyone at Crate for the incredible expansion and these good-ass updates! You’re all doing great work!
Yeah I’m seeing this a lot with 1.3.04 on GoG, especially noticeable when you pop a totem. Hopefully it goes away when 1.3.05 hits.
Wow I’m very surprised at some of the reactions to this patch. Honestly I didn’t even see the changes as a significant difficulty change at all more like fixes to things that to me came across as clearly broken and not functioning as intended.
Performance issues is a very individual thing for your system I suppose but I haven’t seen any significant changes at all in performance with everything cranked to the max including the new HDR lightning which is very nice ![]()
I don’t know what this freezing issue is in that spot people keep talking about either it works fine for me although I’ve seen it mentioned enough times in different posts that I don’t doubt it’s something worth looking into.
Good job crate, good update, good DLC it can only go up from here ![]()
I’ve enjoyed WASD movement a lot and that dodge option was really needed. One option that I really also wish the game would have though is an option for permanent stationary attack. Been playing Bone Harvest build and since I now use WASD, I like to use that ability on mouse 1. The issue is however that it often repositions my character if I click some enemy a bit further back (goes for melee attack), which is a bit annoying tbh. Like, if I’m already using WASD for movement, why would I need any additional mouse movement at that point? Besides of course targeting since I’m using Keyboard option.
So, could we possibly have an option where stationary attack is a toggle or something? Probably sounds small, but at least for me it would improve my enjoyment of the game quite a bit.
Hold SHIFT while you attack with LMB, so that your char stays in place.
Why no information on steam ? I just go home. I need to patch. I don’t know why. No patch patch. The previous time i just coulndt play anymore because of the win11 / linux bug. That fix with no patch not ?
It’s in the patch notes there same as it is here.
The thunderous strike change makes me sad, it kills primal strike once again. It was briefly viable endgame with awakened veil’s witness before this patch and now goes back to just being a leveling skill despite being a fan favorite skill.
You don´t need 80 % TDM to make spam PS viable. It was always viable in the endgame.
