This game released with far more content than I had thought. Wasn’t the original scope something like a 20-25 hour campaign? Lol
After a solid expansion the game will be huge.
You and me both. We’re getting a lot of free content right now but I’d be willing to pay for many expansions. I think Cairn has a lot of potential.
Oh, I owe crate money at this point for sure. I’ve never gotten so much time out of a game especially something that I paid like $20 for.

Ironically enough, my roommate and I ‘beat’ the main storyline this week and we were both wondering if an expansion would happen (it seems likely from Creed’s end message) and lo and behold…
Even if this isn’t an expansion per se, I’m excited. I haven’t felt this way about a game or been so very addicted since we all started playing WoW (something we can never NEVER go back to). Unlike WoW, however, I actually feel a part of the story as it happens.
I had never played the original Warcraft and when SWTOR came out, it didn’t really feel like the conclusion to KOTOR. This feels like I’m a part of a new storyline, right from the beginning, and I’m going along to see where it actually, truly ends (if ever:D)
Now I’m half tempted to just take a ‘vacation’ before Christmas when this comes out!

Great update, and thank you medierra for your post.I think you are right doing only one franchise aRPG can be risky for a small studio, even if it’s successfull.
Also if one day you make GD 2, I really hope you will still give players modding abilities, even if using a licensed engine.
It allows to build a long term community with new ideas and content even years after the game is finished (see Titan Quest or Diablo 2 with medianxl).
so from what i understood the game might get 1 more apart from the upcoming expansion…got me a bit sad tbh ;(. When i open the Local map my eyes are scanning such a huge landscape i wish i could go in all these places.
No matter what i will buy them the same my friends will do.
But if the engine is the one thing that sometimes limits our multiplayer problems then im fine with it if you make a GD 2!!! Ofc i will get it.
There will be two extensions / add-ons!!! Already definitely confirmed. Maybe even the third. Although I them it would have made one, and began work on the second part of the game, and would not waste money and time on the first part. One extension would be quite enough, well, a maximum two.
Ze second expansion will probably released as soon as Half Life 4 is finished.

hii im new to the game and want to buy it, i have an account at GOG, if i buy via there, how the updates and all works? or should i buy via STEAM and create an account?
I have read that GOG people feel left out for multiplayer as the Steam/GOG is not compatible and there are more steam users.
Game is on sale right now (sort of). Cheapest price is via a Humble Bundle, even if you do not care at all for the other games, which will get you a Steam key.
Due to GoG and Valve having different processes sometimes you get the updates on GoG and other times on Steam first. But we are only talking of a few days at the most.
If you are looking for the larger MP community, then you should play GD on Steam.
If you want to support Crate, then buy via their BUY NOW! page - this defaults to a Steam key, which you can claim via the Humble Bundle website. This way you require an account with them, too.
Edit: Thanks jiaco, I did not consider any discounts. arikleybo, there is currently a 40% discount on GoG.
I would have expected it to have crossplay on gog “Crossplay-enabled games offer online play between GOG and Steam”. If not are Crate planning to add it? :eek:
My understanding is, that GoG and Valve need to work together on crossplay, before it can actually happen. I do not have any details though.
