Grim Misadventure #113: Altered Skill

Ah so it’s the striker class. Though how sport got involved has me beat.

Everyone in this thread seems to be on acid

Zanchit erm…Zantai is a troll but i have to admit i loved the Futurama quote, so all is forgiven.

Not played for a while but really like that medal, Mithical Mark of Dark Dreams.

Does Olexras flash freeze still not hit most bosses and things like flying monsters?, i really hope thats going to be fixed or changed for the expansion.

After some research I come to conclusion that purple segments cant be blue or yellow; most likely they are red; after zoom out it is possible to recognize helm or dog.

It looks like the class in question is raising one of its hands and from the ground many hands are emerging.

Necromancer confirmed?

The second image seems to be a troll, it looks like an owl or some pokemon

Either that or whatever I saw aren’t actually eyes and are something else

Either that or we have some kind of rat king.

So, looking at this i’m seeing a humanoid (), with his back turned towards the viewers, having his left arm up holding some kind of source of power (an orb, crystal, or whatever your imagination can come up with), with his right hand stretching backwards holding a weapon (sword or some kind of a longer weapon since it could hit the bottom margin of the picture).

This can also be seen the other way around too ( the guy is facing us, with the source of power in his right hand and the weapon in his left).

The Magenta color could be the energy flowing downwards on the artifact or from the artifact, indicating the “speciality” of the new class.

Given the color, as someone has already mentioned earlier, it also makes me think at Kilrian and i’d love to think that this new class will be an exotic one, even if it will be a necro, witch or whatever. It will have a unique color scheme and a different approach to a well known concept in other games.

This is what i think tho, time will tell for sure.

Hopefully

I won’t argue that much with you, even though at some certain point i have an different opinion. However the only thing which, besides Illusionist which i miss in Grim Dawn is something like Rifts, Endless Dungeon or Mapworks. Since Grim Dawn have an Handcrafted Map - like Diablo 3 and other modern HnS - it misses something which keeps the Content “refreshing”. In Diablo 2 the Maps was randomly generated it kept to the most Part the Game refreshed even after you made the 100th Character. In Diablo 3 they shifted to Handcrafted World as well and had with Rifts to compensate the lack of generator who keeps the content refreshing, and thats something i miss in Grim Dawn too. Crucible is a pretty neat feature, which i paid happily for; however for me this isn’t the answer to that. I don’t know if you ever consider something like that, and it will someday will be introduced in GD - and if not, it won’t kill the Game for me. The only thing which i hope is, if its not introduced - than it’s not simple because biased fanboyism where such Features are talked down to an “Diablo 3” or “Blizzard-thing”(simply because other games like as example Torchlight 1+2 offers such thing as well - and some even before), but moreover because you don’t see it fits your Game or its hard to achieve…

I swear if I had a dime for every time Chthon says “Necromancer confirmed” I could afford to buy the Grim Dawn expansion already.

Loooool

Well its pretty much been confirmed tho.
I don’t see why we need more pets tho to be honest. What we need is Spammable Chain Lightning and an aoe channeling skill (single beam just doesn’t cut it for me)
But if inquisitor addresses these then fine give the kids more pets

I’d enjoy, say, a 100 level tower or something. More end game would be nice, but infinite end game causes a whole host of issues.

AFAIK the only thing confirmed is that the new class isn’t called the Necromancer.
Don’t we have a granted chain lightning skill, BTW? And it does seem Inq will deal with your channeling desires.

As for pets, while we have many pets, we have two pet classes only, and of their built in pets, we have only two good permanent pets, Hellhound and Briarthorn. So we’re still actually under on pet classes, compared to the classes with good spells and good attacks. Very underrepresented.

Really? Do you have a source for this? Link please.

That’s my money btw

Source?

Inquisitor might finally fulfill my Auramancer desires. Well we already have Veil of Shadows but that new skill looks groovy.

Oh please, seeing Pet Conjurer sickens me. I considered making one but I simply can’t find any interest in having a bunch of mutts attack some troll. An army of undead skeletons on the other hand, me likey

Obviously i respect the people who make pet builds work, cause those are bloody hard to get the hang of but personally I hate the current state of pets in the game.

Because they’re awesome to play with if built correctly. Though the current state of the game I personally find them pretty boring even though pet builds are pretty OP they still don’t interest me. I’d rather make a Vitality Decay build using Forcewave than make a pet build

Having only 2 classes with pets means that there is only one class combination for pure pet builds. Just adding one more class with a pet triples the combinations to 3.

Also, if the 8th mastery does have a pet, then based on the other 2 classes with pets, there is absolutely no reason to believe that the class would be useless for everything else. I think some are getting too caught on this when it would likely boil down to like one line of maybe 3 skills in a mastery. Not a big deal.

Pretty much what the Pokemaster here said. If the next mastery has pet support then it doesn’t make it useless for the rest. Does having pet support stop you from picking Occultist or Shaman right now? So, necromancer confirmed

Also, the biggest flaw in the current pet support is that going non-conjurer you lack enough permanent pets. And the summoned pets aren’t very impressive (Chillmane and Og’Napesh are alright, Salazar’s Harbringer is good but is a temp summon)

An extra pet class with a few extra permanent pets wouldn’t hurt
