Grim Misadventure #138: Moving Right Along

Early game sure. But since they are tied to faction rep I don’t think it’s going to get too out of hand. Late game… mmm. don’t really think it matters by that point.

yeaaaah

Did you see “Rush”? Whirlwind skills in RPGs are essentially “move to this point while spinning”, so something like a whirlwind might be possible. Since there will be rare runes with custom effects, a custom “Rush” designed to look like a whirlwind is not out of the question… I don’t know about shooting while moving though.

Oh man if you like it slower just don’t use the skill of those runes. You have the choice.

Meh.

Just kidding, this is brilliant. Looks like GD is not just getting new areas etc., but actually changing a bit. I like it.

This sounds weird to me. I blind foes and then jump behind myself?

Not really a choice if not using them gimps me no matter the situation or makes several encounters harder. Because i actually like to use optimal stuff.

We’ll see how it’s balanced first before i come to any final conclusion. I’m just assuming stuff.

I cant believe this - you guys, yet again, managed to get a 37 year old, feel excited like a teenage girl at a Beeber concert for the first time - waiting for FG.

I want it NOOOOOOWWWWWWW (throws wallet repeatedly at screen with glimmer of hope Zantai reaches through to take it and give back a single KEY for the full FG)…

Let us not forget those who already can.

Ways To Make Yourself Vomit #17: Rift Tear vs Valdaran.

Easy there Christian Bale

I’d like to see this implemented. Sounds really awesome

Sounds like a reverse leap to me. Would’ve loved to see a gif

Still a better love story than twilight

I think Crete will buff creeps base HP , cause right now the dmg output of endgame builds is excessive. Most creeps die to player`s fart or , in case of Infiltrator to aura-effect.
A 80% HP buff would reduce the game speed to the point when we have to fight content, not just blow exp-gloves.

I guess yes, jump behind your current position to get safely out of danger.

You can augment a medal with a rune and just not use its moving skill but get all the bonuses the rune gives. I hardly doubt anything can make you use moving skills if you don’t like playing like that.

“Just don’t use [In game system everyone else is going to use to empower their characters that many developer man-hours were spent making], you have a choice.”

While I don’t agree with Norzan, the argument of ‘choice’ does not really work to counter his arguments.

It could matter a lot in different ways for different builds and in different scenarios. The issue with ranged builds, for instance, is that kiting takes away too much of your overall dps. So having something like the Void Rift would be a massive buff to your applied damage per second against an enemy like, say, Alkamos or Gargabol, because the animation for the teleport is quite fast. In Crucible, depending on how far some of these abilities can target, this may give you the few seconds you need to breathe while your important cooldowns finish.

We’d have to see just how things really pan out. Guesstimation for this isn’t going to be sufficient.

Rush felt more like an alternate Blitz, to be honest… With Blitz, you run through a pack of mobs and hit a designated character at the end, and with Rush, you hit everything on the way.

Rush is also a fast moving skill, while the classic Whirlwind moves you around at slow speed, while dealing damage to anyone on your way. Perhaps the stronger Rush Runes could add a similar effect, like you said, but I find it unlikely.

Hm …jump, blind, jump back to my starting position? Ok, that would make sense.

Pretty sure Charge is Blitz.

Indeed. Something tells me that either way the hater group is going to be a lonely little place with this new mechanic. Best to just get over it and instead focus on influencing it to not be stupidly OP.

It is not like using a certain mythical legendary because it has optimal stats. Yu get the bonuses of a rune no matter whether you use its moving skill or not.

Nice leap slam and shield charge\whirling blades like movement skills dudes
Hope the game will become faster.

Yes, I know that. :stuck_out_tongue:

I used Blitz as an example to point the difference between the mechanics from Rush and Blitz/Charge.

Rift Tear is going to be so much fun. In your face Valdaran, I’m going to dance you round Cairn.

ABBABBABBABBABBABBABBABBABBAB. Getting dizzy over here!
