Awesome stuff imo. Really cant wait to test these out.
This is very exciting. These new mobility skill types are going to add so much to the gameplay.
I’m guessing that only Disengage and Rift Tear can be used with ranged weapons.
I wonder how the poor monsters are going to cope with these additions.
Well, without being able to see the template files it’s hard to say, but as a modder I can say this:
Movement skills allow you to determine the speed multiplier of the skill, regardless of the movement speed cap. This is why blitz has 300% movement speed. If you set the speed to -50%, it should move the player 50% slower and have a similar effect to whirlwind. If you could add an animation to it as well that repeats… Anyway, that said, I think this would be extremely clunky with how it looks in the video, IF it were a slow moving skill. I can just imagine trying to use a whirlwind like this and having difficulty changing destinations on the fly cause I’m still slowly dashing this way or that way…
It’s far too early to tell anything though.
All in all, excited to see this stuff. Can’t wait.
Holy f****!
Can’t wait for this.
Just waiting for a Blizzard employee to post on this forum and say they have bought Grim Dawn and renaming it to Diablo 4: Grim Dawn…
Leap and teleport in GD? Holy cow!
you jump to a safe spot behind you, i.e. jump backwards
Awesome changes to the game’s system.
Having disengage/engage abilities will hopefully make combat feel a little more smooth/dynamic.
I hope we’ll see some enemies/bosses that have slow wind up abilities/telegraphed attacks that would benefit from dodging with these augments.
I bet modders will also be really pleased to get their hands on these target-less movement abilities as well.
looks awesome!
(any chance for pre-purchase option for the expansion this time?)
No.
10 chars
No other words. Just this.

That is literally one of the things I most wanted to be added to Grim Dawn. Take all my monies please!!
There’s something about teleport/leap/blink type skills that is just incredibly satisfying to use, and though the game is great without them I was always feeling the lack of such a skill. Don’t know how you’ve done it (lots and lots of hard work?) but that is awesome.
The only other thing I would very much like for GD is some kind of expanded end game, such as PoE and D3 have - like with their Rifts and Maps. It could be an entirely new thing nothing like those, but something for end game other than run roguelike dungeons/play crucible would be absolutely amazing. Very intrigued to find out what the new mode is…
This looks awesome! Can’t wait to play with a few of them!
Awesome. Good work guys!!
Wow! i am amazed! This is something i have been wishing for, for a long time and it will actually be happening. These movement skills have the potential to revolutionise the game.
I can’t imagine how much devotion this took to get it to work in the engine but thank you very much!
I really can’t wait for the expansion.
I just went and bought the Loyalist Steam package after reading this update, looks great man.
Are you guys working on letting us cast spells or use abilities while moving? At least buffs maybe?
Some sort of timed assault mode perhaps?
New stuff looks good though.
Hell yeah, what a great addition.
Not only will it make farm runs less tedious but it looks like you’ll be able to use them to dodge some attacks as well.
they’re adding mobility skills to every character so that is a possibility.
I don’t think they will, and if they do, I will probably not play this game anymore. The creep HP of this game is just about right, for casual players like me. But if they have decided to cater this game to the 0.1% top gamers by making this game even more difficult, well, I would go play other games instead.
