Grim Misadventure #145: Oaths Must be Kept

That’s another can of worms;)

One of Dikkie’s builds got 4 T3’s iirc. So no, not a real need to increase the devotion cap. More choices yes and we’ll get those, but the devs want the players to make choices on skills and devotions. Gets the old brain cells working now and again. :stuck_out_tongue:

  1. Shattering.
  2. Shattering.
  3. Shattering.
  4. Shattering.
  5. Shattering.

pretty much on-point.

Yeah. But it’s just an example. was always easy to get 3x t3 on the left hand side of the devo sky.

But some builds can break the game just by getting a T2 or extra stats like DA/OA

500K dot in campaign is meh? And btw this could even be done pre AoM

First, testing privileges are able to be revoked, so no one is dumb enough to spoil something for a random paladin-obsessed forum-goer.

Second, Zantai has a lot of fun dropping vague hints, and no one would want to rob him of the simple pleasures in life.

nah, soldier + oath breaker + retribution :D:D:D:D

Heck yeah. I think I might have to make a Warlord to try the new retaliation damage added to attack mechanics. I saw a post from Zantai on Reddit that said it will be added to Counter Strike. I hope they add it to Shield Smash and Brutal Shield Smash from Battered Shell and Serrated Shell, respectively.

I AM VERY SORRY! But Anu’s number is 60 and he is the highest but not of humanity only within the Annunaki race. So him being believed to be the veil of heavens, 60 would be the real number to have. 40 is the number of our God who made the human body. Why do you think it’s a lot in different practices such as 40 days after a newborn is born one must go to the temple to baptism that newborn? Because 40 is God’s number. I will leave it at that. 60 in the constellations IMO will be the perfect number.

55 is believed to be the number of Enlil’s wife Ninlil. So you are wrong about tainted powers.

Replace all words with AMAZING!

I am sure it would still not matter in the endless dungeon, which was my point. The rest of breaking the game maybe and I guess it ends with one has to go to custom games with more points around to put.

PS: I bet that’s how Zantai saw this whole thing. He did custom games and saw what would happen with more devotion points. Still I hope in the future there will be 60 devotion as the viable will be there to put it.

If that is the case then WHERE THE HECK is the holy add on dmg type that it was supposed to be there to vary things? Oathkeeper has it? YEAH RIGHT? If so then it’s cool if not then it’s meh.

I AGREE! I think the needed amounts of z greens and x reds to get that constellation is annoying. If we could choose any or per level they unblock then it would be way cooler. I don’t know but something to not be stuck in the bottom cause we did too many needed constellations that only have green, red and purple but we can’t get the white for another constellation we want cause it costs too much at this point. That kind of annoyance you know?

You said you are relatively new. If you weren’t you probably wouldn’t say this. I know it’s friustrating when the devo path you daydream of doesn’t work out it is frustrating, but 60 points matters be it crucible or new Mode

Idk what you are on about. When was there ever a new dmg type supposed to be added? Other than maybe people speculating.

Zantai and I think even medierra said long ago that GD has more than enough dmg types. Adding one would be a nightmare for gear balancing both in dmg output and dmg mitigation-resists. They actually said once that if they were to start GD over they would do without so many dmg types.

I actually really like the damage types as is, mostly. If they could combine Pierce and Bleeding and give Aether and Chaos DoT counterparts so that all damage types would be consistent, then everything would be perfect.

With the new AoM gear/mods they kinda try to combine chaos+ burn, Aether + burn, Aether + decay.

this will be perhaps more polished in the future

please let oathkeeper have some sort of attack default mechanic like savagery or cadence. Inquisitor does not have any so it would be so lame to see my dear paladin having none!

So many hopes for this class

Auto-attack replacement skill is pretty convenient, I wouldn’t mind oathkeeper having one. Then again, my personal plan is Oathkeeper+Soldier so I don’t need it that much.

my 2nd “hope build” is firemage, since OK seems fire themed. I have an awesome lightning/cold build but fire fails to impress me so far :frowning:

and hope is always a good thing especially when auto attack is now under numbered

only shaman, demo and soldier have legit melee default attack ( item granted skills not included). Amarasta seems lame to qualify but others can argue. so let us say just 3/8 classes.

so we badly need one for oathkeeper. If he needs to keep his oath well he has to have this mechanic and make soldier cry or give shaman a run for his savagery money
questions is will it be a shield orientted or melee wepon centric. I bet we get our answers on Monday!

The current ingame items/way skills are made suggest “holy” damage is when the three elements are combined.

For example in Blessed Steel

“Steel blessed by the priests of Menhir to vanquish the spreading darkness.”

Sacred Strike (Granted by Item)
Strike your enemies with a devastating blow which weakens their resilience.
32 Energy Cost
3 Second Skill Recharge
350% Weapon Damage
165-254 Elemental Damage
18 Reduced target’s Resistances for 5 Seconds
100% Physical Damage converted to Elemental Damage

default attack replacers are great for sure but there’s a million of build working with none. pure casters in one hand don’t need any because they don’t use their default attack anyway, and then you have the weapon user using procs instead, like most NB and Inqui builds.

from what we know of the new mastery i wouldn’t be too suprised if procs would do the job here  (ofc there’s also the sad possibility that Zantai trolled you by giving the name Paladin to the lone incompatible class combination of the game - but that would be true evil )

Mat my man you cant be serious dude! There is no such thing as incompatible in Grim Dawn class mastery vocabulary:furious:

specially with this one! A paladin from the word itself implies perfect and holiness how could you think this combo wont work is beyond gamer comprehension .:undecided:

One thing for sure is we will see paladin climbing in top of the food chain, and even Zantai cant help but implement that perfection:cool:
