AHHHH I’m so excited! This is gonna be awesome ![]()
Edit: oh, and the expansion announcement page still says 2024. You might want to change that so people don’t get confused.

Wow, this is even more than I hoped for! Thank you Crate, we don’t mind waiting until 2025, I know the expansion will be well worth the wait.
The only thing I would still like to see is some kind of Item Collection trackability (Holy Grail enjoyers), for example an in game menu with found/missing items (for Epic and Legendary items only).

So… what’s the point of Ascendant difficulty then, if you can access its features by playing on any difficulty? Am I missing something?
New features sound pretty dope, by the way.
Looks very interesting indeed. It will definitely be a very good change of pace playing Ascendant mode on Hardcore, not to mention that Dread guy encounter.
And the option to enable Ascendant mechanics without selecting the game mode in the main menu is really something to appreciate. Thank you for giving players that much freedom to choose.
Not sure if this is possible… but if we BEGGED could you take over development of KERBAL SPACE PROGRAM 2??? Uhmm… it can wait til after FoA is done though. HELP US OBI-WAN KENOBI’S!!! You’re our only hope… sniff…
When you thought that Ascension was copy-paste of Veteran - this happens… ![]()
Tbh this is absolutely fine with me and surely for some other people. You want something superspecial? You gotta work for it.
Besides - there are surely plenty of builds of to the task.
Big Baby Jesus, I can’t wait!
Every feature looks insanely good, I’m sooo hyped ! ![]()
Maybe @Zantai can clarify, but perhaps ascension altar will still allow some materials to drop ascended affixes or items even in lower difficulties?
Campaign difficulty equal to sr60 is nice, but maybe we could been able to adjust “ascendant” difficulties not no sr60 (that is rather easy mode for common experienced player) but to sr75 and beyond which add some more “spicy” in familiar game campaign
It reads as though the baseline difficulty of Ascendant mode is SR60 and then the Ascension Altar can pump the difficulty further still.
Remains to be seen how challenging one can make their experience, though.
Use the Ascension Altar and enable Ascended drops on any difficulty.
New challenges? Fun? Don’t need to gatekeep new features to enjoy them. Ascended mode also enables All of these mechanics whether you add materials to the altar or not, so you are effectively getting a lot of materials-worth of mechanics enabled for the added baseline difficulty.
Haha, pretty sure not possible. Not that we really have room in our already busy docket for another game right now.
By adding materials to the altar, you can effectively raise the difficulty to around SR80.
Wow that’s nice, thanks for clarify
God bless you and the entire Crate team. These changes will generously make the game even more enjoyable from level 1 all the way to those SR80+ pushing builds. Easily a day 1 purchase at full price.
PS - if you wanna throw up a 4th loyalist pack for some extra cash in the meantime before FoA releases, my wallet is ready.
I literally can’t wait to see what conversions and affixes I can use to make more Dual Damage meme builds! ![]()
Any difficulty, yes, but any mode? There isn’t a way to enable Ascended drops if you just really want to get them playing SR or Crucible, is there?
The jury is still out on how we would integrate the altar into the Crucible and SR, if at all, but I feel that Ascended drops probably belong in the campaign.
I suppose you could make some materials put into the altar affect monsters/loot in SR/crucible specifically?
