Wow, this all sounds pretty interesting. Mind you I mostly use Legendary items but the occasional monster infrequent Rare is pretty useful in some of my builds too, like that Primal Spirit boosting Bound Wraith. Even so while this is pretty crafting material-consuming (and I already have to often farm Ugdenblooms and Aether Crystals) it does offer nice ways of finding more specific items.
The Dread on top of the Nemesis system will probably lead to some hairy encounters, I already had Nemeses spawn in the middle of a boss fight (like Mooslauke spawning on top of Kilrian). I do wonder what sort of creature the Dread is, if it is related to Yugol maybe.
I noticed some new crafting materials on the table, including what seems like an Essence of Beronath!
It can do some weird stuff, like imagine fighting Grava’Thul in the Depraved Sanctuary!
Btw, I do wish that Crate created more Beast Nemeses other than Kuba… As Beasts are everywhere, I generally fight him every session. Would be nice to have other types of such enemies to appear every now and then.
You do know that you ONLY need to do that with ONE character?
After that, you got the waystones unlocked for any of your other characters. I still always do the whole SR with all my characters, for the rewards. But you could craft a waystone and skip them.
It’s how RNG loot works. Even if it dropped elsewhere too, it would be random whether you can find it. I have been playing since the alpha, and it wasn’t until the latest patch that the Mythical Shadowflame Mantle I needed for my Harbinger Pyromancer finally dropped!
And I still do not have all the Legendaries that Alkamos can drop.
If anything, having something drop only in the SR makes them easier to farm than if it was totally random.
Didn’t want to touch this topic again, but here goes…
And I’ve been playing Diablo 2 years before GD even existed, and still haven’t got some of the unique items, so I know how shitty RNG can be. Besides, RNG wasn’t my point at all - I was talking about SR sets being “gated” by Ultimate SR farming (which is fine by me), but new “Ascendant” stuff can be accessed practically at any time (which kinda defeats the whole Ascendancy thing). Like, if you make one thing easily accessible, make the other one too, you know? Not talking about superboss and secret stuff, obviously.
Ascendant mode is just an extra tickbox you can tick next to Ultimate, same as Veteran mode for Normal. The game goes on as before, you can still do quests and play the storyline. So not really sure why you feel Ascendant mode is some sort of wall to make things hard to access… it really isn’t.
One question is how is it locked off from everyone else, It is available in all difficulties, If you prefer flicking mobs and they fall over you do you.
that’s an excuse to postpone something even its a damn expansion pack and not a whole new game like GD 2 will be, then there’d would be a reason to delay the release of it, its uncalled for to do such with a expansion pack even if its a new GD expansion pack!.
You who are in a hurry are forgetting a great detail, this will possibly be the last experience of grim dawn, and until GD2 arrives it will take much longer, I support that they take as long as it is and do a great job of closing, (green fruit and raw food did not do good for anyone)
You do know that Forgotten Gods was also delayed from its initial estimated release because the devs weren’t happy with it?
There is no “timeframe” for release. Yes, Crate thought originally it might come out in 2024, but since they keep adding MOAR it’ll now be in 2025. It was never set in stone that 2024 would be it regardless of the state of the expansion because that’s not how Crate works.
Whenever it arrives, my wallet will be ready. I’m happy with it arriving sometime in 2025. If the devs go insane and decide to postpone it even more, so be it (even though that would be much sadness).
The game is already fantastic as it is. Anything below that bar would be spending money to degrade my experience.
So the next extension must be legendary. I could settle for mind-meltingly awesome, but nothing less.
