Crate are constantly updating the engine and have pushed it pretty much to its limits with this expansion.
For modding see the last 3 patch notes posted here that all have some additions/changes to the modding tools.

Thanks. I’m from Serbia though so the chances of that happening are probably 0. But fun fact, my ex actually got to work on a Titan Quest DLC, from Serbia, and she didn’t even know that it was one of my all time favorite games. That was an insane coincidence.

These graphics look really nice. And that’s because they’re made in an engine that smells like mold and old man’s ass. I’m really curious to see what you guys will do with the new engine.

Love it. With all the info Zantai has gifted us with to date, this seems like the biggest expansion for the game in, um, ever. I’m excited. Can’t wait to try out the new class and all the new mechanics!
One step closer to the MMO Zantai told me specifically they were never going to do. Because who can think about that when they’re working on a new graphics engine for GD2? I’m coming back to play GD2 if I die before it’s released. Even if I’m dead.
Offering a decent followup to a critically acclaimed game with 10 years of balancing, extensions and modding will be an absurdly tough challenge.
