Grim Misadventure #30: Beyond Burrwitch

Is our esteemed Captain Bourbon running out of whiskey?

Bridges? Bandits?! Shanking!!! NIGHTBLADE!!!

It could give you some +points in terms of attitude with the group or even no bonus at all, but I am all in for anything that will let you feel that your actions matter, you are part of that surviving group and you actually help them rebuild one step-at-a-time.

Also interesting update - I have already encountered outlaw group in mines and I am definitely looking forward to kick their leader’s butt.

I am looking forward to this with the force of a thousand suns.

Can’t wait for beta!

Where?! I’ve been looking forward to fighting these guys, didn’t think there were any in alpha. Directions please! ;)

Information below in the spoiler tags
There’s a thread on the new cavern here.

You stumble upon it somewhere in Wightmire. I, personally located it on the east side if I remember correctly.
Thanks for the update. I think i love this idea very much, I belive if you add this mechanic to the game you could always ad extra pathways back to the main path and add far more to the level as in bridges that break though out the game and make it last much much longer than it would have taken if you just fixed everything up.

Would you Fix the outside as you rampage though it and maybe make say a corruption type effect on terrain, So as you progress though your quests if you wanted to do them or just go head long into a direct path could also turn the ground into lush greenery and that makes things look way better than the grim start to the game, but the enemys will always corrupt terrain and it would mean finding ways of keeping your land that you have taken to stay and then eventually you could end it.

Also you could make it so you could higher men later on in game to say protect bridges that would fall to the enemy.

Glad to hear the update, I can see that on the map already in update 12 you have some ā€œ?ā€ < already on part of the map that you say isnt accessible at this time so please keep the game evolving good to hear about the update looking forward to it.

Found it. Thanks for the help! The outlaws made for a good fight, and the cave itself is a cool environment (abandoned mine).
I look forward to facing more of these guys when beta comes around.
Cheers,
Younghappy

I really enjoy it too! It was a nice surprise to see some extra content while still in alpha. And I agree, the bandits made for a decent challenge.

Capt Burbon has nothing new for me after keeling the warden.
Is there a possible bug here?

I love this new building idea, what if you need 2 people to build in a 2 players game or 3 or 4? That would make multiplayer mode more interesting! If you play alone, the game will adjust and only 1 person is needed to build.

Throwing ideas around :stuck_out_tongue:

Also stuff to build;

turret
wall
boat (leading to the next act)
camp fire (from a snow map or in a dark dungeon!)

This update is referring to what comes next with beta. We are still in alpha, and so the content talked about in this update does not apply to the current version of GD.

Ok, so the map markers are just previews?

Jorjor

Yea the map makers are for the future so it will be one thing less to worry about when adding the beta content I’m guessing. Also to create a bit of suspense and anxiety I’m sure.

Will Act 2 be included in Beta?

Act 2 will be in the beta as I’m sure the devs will want to test everything in that zone.

i see only 6 rifts in act2,in act1 the are 10.I hope the will add more rift ports on act2 and realy cant wait to see the 3 large dungeons for high level)))).

16 how cute… ;p

I am thrilled about the bridge ideas as it will more optimization potential for the player and gives me more reason to revisit areas to grind for some resources necessary for the (hopefully) more extravagant optional bridges.

As has been said in this thread, repairing other stuff in devil’s crossing (for a reward) would be another awesome idea as it lets the player help identify more with the camp of people they are helping. I hope you will have the ability to pour some resources into this. Greatly interested!

Anyway, keep up the good work. I am looking forward to the new content.

the more RL you make it the better the game experience will be

ā€œhave you ever made a model aeroplaneā€
chipping away at something and chiseling away the rough edges ultimately makes it perfection good luck ill be investing some hard earned into this for sure.
