Grim Misadventure #37: Crafting Your Future

Thanks for another incredible update Zantai. The crafting looks very cool. Keep up the great work. You guys/gals are doing awesome so far!!!

Looks promising, on the other hand i hope recipes, items (such as weapons, armors and stuff) and blueprints i[/i] getting rarer as they actually are, it’s IMHO way too easy at the moment to obtain things in this game.

Farming struff is atm more dull than rewarding for me.

without a high drop rate we can’t get the items needed to see what itemization is like. Drop Rate will be adjusted accordingly in due time.

How can the drop rate be too high, yet farming is not rewarding ?

I think the current drop rate is just right, B15 dropped too little.

B15 dropped too much as well, but fewer than B16

Well, I have every blue item that can be equipped in alpha. (I think I have two of everything). Also at least two complete Marauder’s sets. There is nothing left to find, unless I want to replace my good Salazar’s blades with awesome ones.

Is that because:

  1. You’ve exploited bugs with one-shot chests?
  2. You’ve played 200+ hours and and farmed effectively enough to get them?

I think 1 is a bug which will be corrected and 2 makes you a probable outlier atypical of many players; at least for Act 1 when the full game is released. Most people will not be farming Act 1 Normal at full release like we are today in Alpha.

And did you find any of these blue items using the bugged one shot chest exploits?

If you take away the bugged one-shot chests, I don’t think too much is dropping. At least in B16 they are not the only source of blues any more for me - and oneshot chests are still bugged in B16 as well.

I really loved the Relics in TQ:IT and I am really looking forward to them in in GD.

I got the last one from a Buggy chest before I know they were buggy. I am closing in on 600 hours played though.

Yea well, i’d say you found many of those items during the 600 hours farming previous versions of the game so i wouldn’t make too much of that.
I think it’s quite good, doing my second char up to level 19 so far i have found 2 i think, maybe 3. considering that’s about 5-7 hours of play i certainly wouldn’t call it too high. in my first playthrough up to 25, i got around 10.

The drops seem to be just right in my opinion.

I’ve a handful of greens and a handful of blues and at level 18 after killing the warden I still only wear one of those blues and am covered in yellow items.

I like that it was a tough decision in some cases to stick with yellow items.

That’s from a fresh start,no farming and getting the job done so as to speak.I may pay a visit to the higher level areas, but being optional content (not main quest driven) I’m in no rush.

As someone before wrote, with the release of act 2 we probably won’t be farming act 1 and at full release most likely won’t be farming normal except for some very rare instances.

What I think about relics from a TQ point of view ? Love them. Some I love more than others and some I love only a little (Book of Dreams, getting a scroll of Oneros =P).

I love this system! I’m very happy that crafting will be centralized and stored in the UI.

Keep up the awesome work guys!

Actually while we are talking about items, anyone else finding it really difficult right now with all the added abilities on the imbued items and what not to go through and compare?

I’m sure at end game it will all be really interesting to read all that stuff, but there is so much information on an item right now, my green axe with all it’s stats, then the two abilities, 1 that it has, one that it’s imbued element has the writing takes up the screen top to bottom, them my sword is the same, it’s so much writing to compare each of my duel wielded weapons vs some rare i pick up… to me, unless an item is way better i’m too lazy and just sell it, i probably sell items that are better than what i have because i’m just too lazy to read through all of the details.

I don’t know, I guess to me it seems like, do all of the skills need to be tied to the weapons?

I agree that weapon component skills add to the massive box of information on the item that it is applied to. I don’t find it hard to understand or read but when checking the vendor and comparing items it can be a bit annoying.

Perhaps comparing items should only include the items and either the basic info on the component and just the name of the skill (while in personal inventory if shows everything when you mouse over JUST that item), or just compare the items themselves without components (perhaps with just an indicator that “this item has a component attached”).

Comparing items via loot found or vendors should just compare the items, perhaps not the components adding to that and making the screen become cluttered.

I forget, are we getting Arcanist with this next update, or is she going to show up after that?

After act 2.

The relics are back, great !

Just one note, I hope they will take less place in our inventories than TQ’s ones :).

Relics go into the left space of the belt so I’m guessing they will take only one spot like a ring/amulet/medal. Just a guess.
