Grim Misadventure #49: Skills be Changin'

Why do some need 3 and what happens if I invest only 1 or 2 ? Is it not transmuted yet at all, or just not fully ?

this is what i saw on a stream:

you can put 1 point in the nightblade skill: phantasmal blade and that skill will become transmuted to: no skill recharge and less damage and with (what i saw at) the soldier class you can put up to 3 points in to a divergent which will activate it (1/3) but also give extra damage when you put all points into it. (3/3)

Some of the Transmuters offer degrees of change (ie. you can use Tremors with 1/2/3 skill points invested in order to vary the cooldown to stun ratio).

There isn’t an official ETA. People do believe that it will be released either late this year or early next year. Myself I’m banking on the second option as it’s more realistic with Crate’s smaller team and how game development is.

Anybody can tell you anything they want, Crate included. That doesn’t mean it will happen until it actually happens.

Pretty friggin’ sweet idea. I know you guys have limited time but I had this thought occur to me. What if you took it a step further and allowed a subset of the components to socket into skill transmutation slots to change the base damage element. Similar to what you’re doing with Ring of Steel but instead of just frost damage you could insert a component that grants poison damage and it would modify Ring of Steel’s damage to poison. It wouldn’t modify anything else about the skill except the damage type.

At any rate, you guys continue to consistently kick ass with this game. Thanks.

Release Date

With these new skills as such as extra addons to skills, you could have gone into what was generally done in the game called path of exile which i think works quite well which is have items that you can equip into armor and swords and they can be interchangeable and do all sorts of different things depending on how put the crystals together.

Anyways, If your going to keep the current skills as they are then these will hardly be used, unless there’s something that you can turn off and on at will.

Good thought, Lets see how this gets implemented.

PoE uses this for its skill system, in GD we have the masteries for that - and I like that a lot better than the PoE approach because the skills then are not dependent on gear / gear restricted by having the right sockets and links

Has anyone picked anything up on live streams or similar about the Pneumatic Burst transmute? I’d like to know more about what it does as it’s probably the only one I’ll be using

They now have items that grant DW… Lucky I got one just need a couple more lvls to try it out on my Demolitionist.

I mean transmuter for dual wield passive. One of my char is pure dw nightblade. I guess since it is passive so no transmuter…
