Grim Misadventure #76: Shaman Mastery Pt. 2

I am curious to see if totem and sigil will synergize well. If they do then occultist/shaman might be an ultratank.

I would imagine so, since both do vitality damage.

Just release it ,why wait for the internal testing ,give it to us now :stuck_out_tongue:

Question is…

So what is Storm Totem?

And what else are we getting in build 27 besides the sham?

The phrasing of the totems description is a little weird, so I wasn’t exactly sure if it was saying that it steals life through vitality damage or just that it steals life. Good to know.

Will anyone use that temporary summon? Looks like waste of points for me.

Yes, probably, being an ultimate power like Possession or Oleron’s Rage. :undecided:

But I hope it turns out to something like active for 5 seconds, then 30 seconds cooldown. Well, Devastation deals huge damage, is at the top of the skill tree and has only 24 seconds cooldown, so it is possible.

I would drop 1 point into it and let +skills do the job. It looks like it will be similar to Ancestral Horn and Summon Outsider from Titan Quest: temporary summons with very high cooldown, only useful for boss fights and only worth 1 point.

What Croc said. I think it has potential to be a good Nemesis killer, since (my) pets seem to be struggling in that department post-nerf.

Either some of the posters here are trolling you, or they haven’t been keeping up.

While the system is still being actively developed by our programmers, the core design is in place. Devotion will feature a brand new UI filled with constellations depicting various Grim Dawn deities and symbols. To unlock these constellations, you will need to travel throughout Cairn and restore shrines dedicated to these celestial symbols. Sometimes, a shrine will require repair using various rare materials. Other times, you will have to cleanse a shrine of corruption by defeating whatever dark spawn inhabits it.

Whenever you claim a shrine, you will earn a Devotion point, which you can then spend in the Devotion Window. This earns you additional attributes and bonuses. However, some constellations feature what we are calling secondary skills. These skills are not applied to your skill bar in the usual sense. Instead, you will apply them to your mastery skills and they will trigger additional effects whenever you use the assigned skill.

As an example, imagine that whenever you trigger Cadence, you will also have a chance to auto-cast a meteor to fall upon your enemies. Or whenever you block with Overguard active you will also gain a short buff that increases your damage. We are working on all sorts of awesome secondary effects, but how you use them will be entirely up to you.

exactly, just like blade spirit…

Blade Spirit is really interesting at its ultimate levels, I never have gotten the opportunity to test it at 26/16 though.

Ah…finally I can play my buried (FU Blizz!) World of Warcraft’s Enhancement Shaman as I’ve always wanted! Thanks Crate, you can’t even imagine how happy I am with this mastery!!! =)

Thank you very much. I get back to Grim Dawn from a 2 years pause so I didn’t see that information. Seems really interesting…

exactly, it was an inappropriate example. and saying it will be 1 point wonder while we don’t know anything about the skill doesn’t seem relevant. speaking about BS and scaling i wonder if totems will scale with pet bonuses like Mine, Mortar and Blades.

i also keep my fingers crossed so we can summon several briarthorns in the same time. i miss the pack feeling the wolves gave in TQ.

So basically Occu + Shaman = the ultimate healer?

Let’s see: Blood of Dreeg, Sigil, Locust Swarm, Totem, Mend Flesh from the raven… I wonder how that’ll play out :stuck_out_tongue:

Let’s not forget about Feral hunger for the life leach.

Too bad, hoped the the class would come as a seperate update, but with the schedule it looks it will be tied to the next zone/quest build.

Some nice skills so far. While I’m not the sentry/totem etc. playstyle guy, the difference between skill and mod is interesting. As it, imho, should be: a noticable change to the basic skill.

Hopefully the primal spirit won’t be another skill that’s killed by it’s cooldown.

:p:p:p

Shamen, two hander, finally, oh my!

Playing with two handed weapons since they debuted has been very mixed as I constantly felt like two handed weapons are the ugly duckling and would one day grow into something amazing, this new class will finally do it:cool:

Constellations and shrines also sound so sick since I specifically hoard green items that have secondary abilities,ex: 5% to cast fireball on hit, so would this allow me to cast even more stuff automatically=SERIOUS WIN.

Crate game, even Crater devs, cheers;)
