I can’t even imagine how many build enabling legendary items are going to be in this game. I think this game might just well end up being my most played game of all time in terms of hours, at this rate. :o
Well, I don´t know how many hours i spend playing WoW, but I recently checked my D3 playtime and counted about 4300 hours.
Yet I guess GD could in time actually top that. Already played 440 hours, and D3 is only fun for 1-2 months at season start anyway.
GD isn´t even finalized.
240 legendaries+ legendaries is pretty fantastic.
Say you take out the 23 legendary relics.
Let’s call it 220 legendaries remaining.
Say we split them among the 6 classes, that’s 36 per class.
Say half of those are more for levels 50-65 than 65-75.
That would still 18 end-game worthy per class tree.
Of course many of the legendaries won’t be class related and will be based more around specific stats, and of course a legendary with +skills for a class might still be fantastic for another class.
I’m hyped because that leaves room for every damage type and obvious build with tons of legendaries to spare.

that quote means devotion, legendaries, act4 and the next roguelike dungeon are coming after b27.
Besides art, some legendary weapons should also have unique attack sounds.
Something similar could apply to armor … but more visual this time … like auras, shadow effects etc etc

I’ve actually found the Will of Fate to be moderately effective, but only because of its ability to pierce enemies 100% of the time. This also makes it pretty fun to use all around, too. It’d be nice to see this sort of stat on every rifle/crossbow, even if its lower than 100% to keep the WoF an oddity.
I was toying with the idea of “What if the X% Piercing component that is so unusually high on 2H ranged were translated to X% Chance to Pierce through enemies?” with X = X in either case. But I’m not sure how important the X% Piercing component is for balancing. Still, what with the recent Conversion changes, making certain 2H ranged have something like 40% innate Piercing Conversion makes it really difficult to stack other damage types against it, since conversion is weighted.
TL;DR the ability to semi-reliably pierce enemies ought to be more common on 2H ranged and could help to make the items more viable all-around. Goes a long way to solving the lack of AoE issue without making them outright overpowered. Also, 40% Phys -> Pierce really sucks if you’re a magic user.
I don’t know about you guys, but even though game-wise we do have quite a bit of epics I still get the feeling that it’s not enough to satisfy me. ATM I have a total of 450 hours played and have about… 80 % of all the epics in the game. And that’s early access .
