I don´t like it when people state their personal opinions/taste as irrefutable truth. It´s not really a good argument. YOU find procs boring, many other people don´t. I (in my opinion) like them very much, because to me they are much fun to play with and offer a lot of customization and you can even make whole builds around them. So please, don´t act like you are stating a well-known fact when you just talk about your personal preferences, thank you.
it looks as awesome as two weeks ago
my only (minor) concern is this thing about item-based build. it feels impersonal to me, masteries are what gives flavor to character imo. i hope you don’t go too far in that direction, and that masteries will remain predominant.
I took the one example you spelled out… I also said that PoE has some nice gems, so no, I do not pick what I want, I answered specifically to your specific example and more generically where you started out vague to begin with.
BTW your original post not once said support gems, let alone mentioned specific ones (not all are interesting, much like presumably not all devotion skills will be equally interesting), even though it is relatively clear that you were talking about their gems
The funny part is that he clearly hates procs, but at the same time he says he loves PoE, which also makes you rely on procs for pretty much every single build you do.
Cast when Damage Taken, Cast on Critical Strike, Cast when Stunned, Cast on Melee Kill, Cast on Death, Power Charge On Critical, Endurance Charge on Melee Stun… all of these can make pretty much every single skill a proc skill in there…
And I don’t like people that read other people posts, then in their brain think that other people said something they didn’t like and then attack that person for that imaginary slight .
The funny part is that I said that I didn’t like procs in PoE and I said support gems except for procs. L2R.
Seriously, this topic has turned into “bash people that are not total GD fanboys. Any criticism for GD will be destroyed.”
Outside these forums people will be less inclined to fanboy this game and that will affect sales.
I hope for something that connects with the “Blitz” skill with devotion.
The funny part is that I never said anything about you loving the procs on PoE, as I clearly said above:
But that you love the game itself, which has procs just like GD, so use your own advice to yourself and L2R?
I just love it when someone claims ‘this game needs X or it will affect sales’, this is so pointless… you have no data to back this up or quantify it, so you might as well not bring it up
There have been worse offenders than this (I see no downside to your ‘proposal’ ie no possibly lost sales because of it) while in some other cases the very suggestion itself might have a negative impact on sales (we have no way to quantify that either, and it might actually be a net negative), but still…
Also, you would have to weigh the cost of adding it versus the lost sales from not having it. Since you cannot really quantify either (the devs might have a good idea of the cost at least), this whole line of reasoning is pointless
Devotion seems to have Flame Strike On Post too!
Awesomesauce!
Well, you literally said “procs are boring”, without any clarification that this is only your personal opinion, so this has less to do with my brain than with your statement.
And this has also nothing to do with being “fanboys” lol. GD seems to be not for you, you like PoE much better, there´s nothing wrong with that at all. But if I would post in the PoE forums in the way you did(boring, disappointing, etc.) then the reactions wouldn´t be very different and I wouldn´t be so pissed about it as you seem to be, it´s just normal…
Alright, I think this subjective/circular discussion can safely be moved over to another thread.
Nothing we have ever done, or will do, will appeal to everybody equally. We perfectly understand the desire for more skill modifiers such as what Torin is looking for, one can never really have enough customization.
The Devotion system was created to enhance your skills and provide more personal flavor. With most of the constellations granting you a Celestial Power, you will have more ways than ever of making say a Cadence build more personal to you. We did this with the intent of giving you new effects to trigger, but without bloating your skill bar.
Most importantly though, everyone needs to try it for themselves.
Thanks Zamtai!
At this time I spent more time playing GD than PoE so no, I don’t think your assumption is correct.
But as not a fanboy I can see clearly where GD can be improved and I am not afraid to voice it. After all I just want to play the best game possible.
I am more toward the current setting which the secondary effects are on-attack, on-hit procs. Simply because currently we can already easily fill our 12 slots skill bar with mastery skills, item and component granted skills.
Well but I guess having some secondary effects as active skills won’t hurt either.
By the way Zantai, will there be a collector version (and upgrade to collector version) on final release? Players buy from Stream can’t upgrade to Loyalist.
And it’s a good thing you see it this way, because that’s what we all want. Fair enough to clear it out.
But …
… can we please move on now? Or discuss it in another thread, if really needed (although it wouldn’t lead anywhere if you ask me).
And most of all, this of course !!!
when you put it that way, yeah, there’s lots to imagine. there are still several skills from diablo 2 and 3 and torchlight 2 that could be used as templates in regards to movement/projectile patterns or overall functionality. with smaller hitboxes and more enemies in melee at once skills blocking enemy pathing would be an option. you could even go for elemental interactions á divinity original sins 2. and so on and so forth… i’d expect stuff like that in the skill trees though tbh. (or realistically maybe in one of crates next games. ;))
While I think the answer is no, I’m gonna ask:
Do any of the celestial powers grant any WPS skills?
Excuse me while I clean up my desk after reading this and the previous Grim Misadventure.
I had the same problem
