Grim Misadventures #0: Greetings from Zantai!

Oh, I’m used to “them”. They’ve been following me since I was 5.

What, why is everyone staring?

Staring?! Who’s staring? Not me!

I forgot to mention this before: You are having a wcIII undead avatar. Are you a fan? (Like undead and nightelf the most myself)

I was a fan, yes, and spent a long time in that editor. The Lich eye had been my online avatar for many years.

As you may have noticed though, that isn’t the Lich eye exactly. I had an artist friend create a new one for me that retained the theme, but is one of a kind.

To be honest I didn’t notice.
It is a bit more compact and the glow to the left of the eye is less foggy and more sparky, no?

Did you release any maps for wc3 or tft?

That’s the jist of it, and it’s stylized.

I made Diablo2ex and its many versions, among other smaller things. That’s the one that saw a lot of play time.

That feel when this was 10 years ago.

Well, almost.

Though I suppose for you it was still the 10th June 2012.

What an amazing 10 years it’s been though. Thank you Zantai and Crate for giving us those amazing 10 years and here’s to having many more of them in the future. :beers:

PS - really need a tri-beer emoji. 10 years is long enough to wait for one. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for resurrecting this thread, it’s really something else to go back and read these old posts from the early days of Crate and GD. Congrats on managing to work for that insane and probably dangerous designer for ten years!

Well, he’s not called

When I first started to play Grim Dawn a long long time ago, it was just beginning. No signs on buildings leave falling or much of anything. The eye candy as you may call it was vacant. Played until I finished the original game and halfway into the second addition before I ran out of gas. Played a retaliation character at the end. Had tried all the different characters one time or another. Played all sorts of games since original Castle Wolfenstein, too many to even remember. Of course Titan Quest and Amalur-both, reckoning and re reckoning… Old age is creeping up on me, so reverted back to the D2Mod Easter Sun Rising. At 92, gaming will come to an end some day, but as of now still looking for a good game to try as always. Best wishes and good luck to all of you. This has come along way since the Bruno pounded on what ever for sound. The best to you Media, super woman.

Good to see you again OldBugger and that you’re still having fun playing video games. :slightly_smiling_face:

You might want to have a look at this, don’t know if town builders are your thing or not, but this’ll be the next Crate release hopefully some time later this year.

Starcraft mods, eh? Our group of friends back then spent a lot of time playing those.
I wasn’t even an RTS fan myself, but many of us were looking for something to play while waiting for the release of Diablo II, and SC was a natural transition.

Anyway, congratulations on the milestone, and I hope there are many more years to come.

Ahh the memories of the olden days, new faces and Zanati first learning the tools and making random strange stuff with never enough fires. I miss the original misadventures

(also how the hell has this been 10yrs already!!!)
