Decided to give the game a grittier look using ReShade, i have some experience with color grading and wanted to change some of the tones and add some slight grain and sharpening while keeping it close to the original, here’s a couple of gifs and a download link to the preset
You just need to download then extract ReShade anywhere, put my preset in the presets folder, run the assistant and add a profile, pick the Grim Dawn executable and choose my preset then click save twice to confirm, you can close the assistant and it should apply the shaders every time you launch the game, it shouldn’t affect performance much if at all
I rather enjoy the overall change, however the intense sharpening gives me aids. Think I’ll give it a try but turn sharpening off or way way down
For those of you who aren’t familiar with reshade/sweetfx it’s an awesome tool. Can be used to change colors schemes, add effects, new AA options, etc to games usually at minimal performance cost. There’s a big online database filled with presets for almost every game out there. Definitely worth checking out if you find something you really love it can honestly change a game in such a big way. In combination with gedosato or driver based downsampling you can really go nuts on upping the quality and look/feel of a game
