The grocer gathered 85 fruits in the time it took the arborist to gather 19. It’s funny but it doesnt feel right.

Maybe those Arborists need wheelbarrows?
It looks like it’s the arborists’ animation that’s slowing them down, not the lack of additional space. I do agree though that it’s sometimes dumb to see arborists “stockpiling fruit” with like 15 in their inventory when grocers can carry the entire town’s food supply in their pockets

The wainwright wagons also pick from the arborist trees. I have six orchards and they always seem to pick off the four closest to the town leaving the arborists with nothing to do for months before the years end. They won’t even help the top two fields.
