[Guide] Onslaught stacks - what skills it works with (and not)

Onslaught stacks works on skills that deals damage, has cooldown, is not a “true” summon and is not a “debuff” (i.e. has no “-x” readings on it like “-300 offensive ability”, “-34% fire resistance” etc). Here is a list in case you are totally confused, I have tested them all in game. Have fun with your onslaught stacks!

Onslaught also works on damage over time (dot).

Skills that deals damage over the entire duration, like Sigil of Consumption, Devasation,… will benefit from Onslaught stacks for all their damage during that duration.

If you have not gained an onslaught stack in 5 seconds, they will all vanish and you have to start building them up again.

“cd skills that are not debuffs and not true pets”
as per the instructions in the other thread Understanding Onslaught, Onslaught Stacks and +X charges - #21 by Zantai

Yes but do you have an idea how many questions we get on discord etc? xD
Nice with a list that one can just give to people so they dont have to think

ye but now you know which skills to put on the list

I already know, why do you think I make this in the first place?

Note that those 2 are exceptions of how Onslaught works as they are technically pets, and should NOT work with Onslaught.

Should be also noted that skills that have ongoing effects will get boosted for their entire duration, making them particularly synergistic since they give you the time to re-stack onslaught.
This means BWC, Grasping vines, Sigil of Consumption, Devastation, etc.

Just a formating suggestion:

The list as a positive one would be easier to consult (Meaning only listing the skills that DO work, while prefacing that if it’s not on the list, it doesn’t work)

Yeah but if someone asks “what about this skill then it is not on the list?” :stuck_out_tongue:

Cold snap and Rip And Tear also work

Yeah I forgot about those, you can generate stacks while in wereform via items

Maybe have a list of those that don’t work separately for people who can’t read well… but allow those that can follow instructions to have a more easily digestible list

You can also straight up use Onslaught in wereform if you want

The Onslaught skill does not show up in my skillbar when I am in werewolf- or wereraven form.

It’s incredible that Horn of Gandarr actually works and is not a debuff skill. i can’t with this skill nomenclature sometimes.

Happy noises for Ravenous earth and Grasping vines being eligible.

hehe yeah, it is a bit wonky… but tell me one ARPG with perfect nomenclature :stuck_out_tongue:

I think I have spent 5k hours in trying to understand Path of Exile, still a noob

This I have not tested yet, but Hearth of Wrath that you get from casting Judgment… I did not check its damage pre and post judgment

…I mean, it kinda is? But then OFF and Stormbox are a debuff, which is just wild.

Does it just boost the damage or also other effects?
