Funnily enough the new spec is much closer to the one I was using. Good to know I wasn’t crazy in my own testing. ![]()
Though I’ll still be trying out the different relic, this one does look stronger than Ignaffar which I was using.

I think scaling demo is better ,than Inquisitor here and Anhilation is the better pick
Makes sense. I saw -% RR in Ignaffar and stopped looking, but the demo relic has better flat, and extra attack speed, and we already have a double RR mastery so the RR is not THAT great.
Though I will say that the Ignaffar relic is better on this build than on other purifiers, because you’re much more likely to be in range for its proc to hit enemies. And although in general the demo points are more valuable, getting more points in Inquisitor Seal does make a difference, it scales very strongly when overcapping.
Depends what you want from your build , I have several Inquisitors that go over cap on the seal just for more comfy farming ,but if you want firepower I think Demo is the way . Signet of the Runefather is one of my fav budget rings if I want want easy hard cap on the seal
I got excited for a second, but then remembered it’s a Purifier and I’d have to sit on the goddamn seal 24/7
GJ on the build though

Moving and kiting are for nerds.
I have one gunner who does not facetank: A paladin pierce/bleed Goredrinker/Bloodborer hybrid skater/gunner build.
Shoot enemies, Vire’s Might through to inflict more bleed, movement rune to make more distance, shoot some more while the enemies bleed to death. No seal required or desired.
By far my favourite gunner.
Seal is not needed , if you believe in your piloting skills , this points can be spreaded for more damage or Blast shield etc for sustain . I play a lot of gunners without seal
Is there anything good or interesting about shields in general that would make someone want to try gun and shield? Or is it mainly just about the special shields that basically act as stat sticks.
Stronghold gets massive buff next patch and it’s the best gunner when this patch comes live , apart from that is more or less personal preference. I like the fantasy and I like to level in various ways , also the feeling when you make some set like Oathbreaker works instead of picking dust
ty so much. ![]()
It’s just good to see a bit more of a good ranged leveling builds for new players, appreciate your work man. Also loved creativity with Shattered realm set for budget setup.
Probably will play this build after finishing my Cold DE. Does this build is cheap to gear but still strong? Seems the build need many good MIs to work well.
Ty for making a great build/guide again RSnoomnak, mad_lee. You guys making me wanna visit home after working to play the game everyday lol
you mean the cheap setup or the “final” mega version?
@RSnoomak you probably know this but there are no augments in the gun and shield in the cheap SR-set setup Purifier, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
Ah sorry for not clearly question. I mean is there big gap between budget level 100 gear vs end game gear.
Yes , significant gap just Stronghold is so broken but budget setup is extremely cheap so it’s good trade off
I’ll check what I did , thanks for letting me know because I really don’t know ![]()
Yeah, the stronghold set is extremely strong.
But it’s also very easy to get. It’s only 3 pieces. So all you need to do is:
1] Find the blueprint for the waistguard
2] Craft 3 copies, keep the best. (Very cheap components, you do need 900K iron)
2] Transmute the other 2. If you’re lucky you’ll only need 2 tries, if not a few more. (Costs a few eldritch essences, another 240K iron or more depending on luck)
So if you have about 1.1-2 million iron and farm the blueprint, you’re already set. That’s pretty expensive, but doable.
So you can easily make a “halfway” version that already has the Stronghold set while you go farm for the rest of the gear.
I kind of suspect this may be normal. I haven’t looked up the exact drop rates, but I never find that many Oathbreakers and farming blueprints is pretty easy.
Might be me being lucky but I found 3 complete Oathbreaker sets and one extra shield
