Their overhead stab attack has too short range. So much so, that if you just left click attack them with a melee character, this attack does not reach when the Dranghoul does it. Affects every Dranghoul that has this attack.
Example in the screen, I can hit him from melee range, his special attack always whiffs. Warrants a slight range increase I’d say.
Noticed it a pretty long while back actually, but seeing as it hasn’t been fixed yet, decided to finally report it. Can’t remember which patch exactly caused it, but they used to be able to hit just fine with this attack (actually hurts like hell). But not anymore. Makes all the Dranghoul bosses much less scary than they should be, when one of their main nukes is useless.
Trolls do actually hit you if you just stand in place and do nothing. Yes, moving even a pixel will make the attack miss, but in case of Dranghouls, you can just do nothing and it will miss. In fact, I find it difficult to find a spot where their slam hits at all.

I know they removed the tracking for these heavy hitting attacks at some point, but only Dranghouls will always miss either way.
Manticores seem to be another enemy that mostly whiffs anything but their default attacks. Just fought the one by the entrance to Mogdrogen’s Grove, and every single sunder attack (tail stab) missed a stationary melee character.
Usual offenders (dranghoul bosses, grundleplith, mogara, shamblers) still miss their attacks “just fine”. Although during my last grundleplith encounter on vet couple days ago it seemed working, despite literally everything else still missing like before.
I’m not entirely sure, but it may be related to terrain? Since I know at least 1 spot in gutworm’s den where his special attack misses 100% of time, despite “cleave” (which is a wave skill template wise) hitting me here without any issues, so it’s not LoS issue.
This bug is a CODE RED. Raxx just fought Gutworm while streaming the game, and he was able to sleepwalk the fight because monster attacks don’t work.
Nobody who has gotten into the game in the last 2 years has experienced the same game that we veterans experienced. Because monsters attacks don’t work, so it’s really just a walking simulator now.
Basically every enemy with a glowing arm attack can’t hit with that attack. Some enemies can’t hit with 2 of their attacks. For example the manticore in the ancient grove. Most monster charge abilities don’t work. I’m pretty sure normal Korvaak’s Champions don’t hit with their glowing arm melee attack. So what should be scary melee enemies don’t do anything.
The game is essentially ruined, and we’ve all been in denial for the past 2 years. Oh, my characters aren’t dying as much these days, I guess I’ve gotten good at the game. I regret to inform you all that we have not gotten good. The game is just broken.
i find the gutworm mention peculiar too, because if i die in act 1, it’s usually from overestimating my defences and getting absolutely clobbered by him,
Or i overestimate my dps and don’t evade his attack and he lifesteals back to “full”
melee just in case someone felt my gun was giving me a distance advantage
like, i’ve outright have HC chars end their run to gutworm in the last year because of this type bravery/underestimation
and SC chars that had their highest dmg taken be kinda crazy for the level and cemented for several levels

and as you could see it’s definitely more than 20% of the time they hit in mine
you’re also not showing your defences/char stats in that vid? which is going to make it even harder to adjust for what might be at play
*i’m not saying there is 0 issue, but perhaps “code red” might be a bit exaggerated, or if nothing else atleast not as helpful without more info other than just “enemy don’t hit/game has been broken for 2 years we’ve all been fooled” ?
because the latter is evidently not the entirety of case/it’s not that simple atleast when some players take tons of hits
