Farming MI’s can sometimes be tedious. I’ve been farming Chains of Brandis in Port Valbury and it’s annoying when you run a dungeon and just receive nothing from these guys. I could run Port Valbury 5 times and receive nothing 5 times. You kind of have to go right out of your way for these guys so I don’t think it’s anything gamebreaking to give their loot a higher drop chance.
FYI “Stonefaced of Frostbite” is the best thing I’ve had drop so far.
I think for Rogue dungeon MI it absolutely has to change because it costs a lot more time and a skeleton key for a single chance. It is super unfair that the +1 mastery belts are so inconsistent in farming potential. Soldier has it easy and gets the lush armor% bonus too, and it didn’t really need that…
I swear every second Gargabol ring is a Corrosive of Spellweaving or Mighty of the Sea. I think rogue MIs should all be purchasable at the rogue merchants at large numbers.
P/s: the biggest joke of all though, is Aetherwarped Cleaver .
100% seems a bit too much, but I agree that rare MI drop rate from bosses/unique heroes could be improved. Epic and legendary MI drop rates are mostly fine (Outcast’s Secret could use a little push though).
Been trying to get a good roll on Cronley’s Signet for ages, half of the time he doesn’t drop anything and the other half it’s worse than the roll before. Now my Bleed Conjurer is sporting a Magestorm Cronley’s Signet of Readiness. While the prefix is completely useless, that “of Readiness” suffix is the best I ever got from hundreds of Cronley runs. Chances to drop a Cronley’s Signet with 2 useful affixes seem extremely slim.
The problem with farming monster infrequents is that you don’t need only to drop, but also you need useful affixes. Sometimes it’s frustrating when you finally find MI to be unreliable.
I need to say there’s MI items with 100% drop chance. Malkaddar blade for example. I needed like 5 minutes to receive perfect double yellow- Chilled of Alacrity.
On-topic:
Yeah, it´s sometimes frustrating if no MI drops, especially in Rogue Dungeons. No problem with Boris (not there) or Hidden Path-Bosses, because it´s a short reload and then I try again…but Watcher´s MI in PV…meh…
Yes, MIs, that drop in rogue dungeon only might see some boff to drop rare, cause you cant perform 1 try each 2 min, like with Valaxteria or Sister Crimson…
On other hand, when you need a specific legendary, and its still doesnt drops after 100 Crucible runs - that’s kinda frustrating too…
It isnt hard to get MI with useful affixes. Just reduce your standards for “useful”.
Right, this one is pretty ridiculous. The other legendary MIs I’ve been able to get in passing, while farming something else. But even focusing on farming only The Outcast hasn’t yielded results for me.
That highly depends on the build and the MI in question. Some are already useful with badly rolled base stats, some are only useful with specific affixes. In my case (Cronley’s Signet) the base stats are outperformed by several legendarys and even epics, but with the right affixes it’ll be BiS.
Thanks but I tried this ring already and it doesn’t work with my build. Makes it hard to overcap pierce res and also the proc is useless. I think my best option is Mythical Deathlord’s Band + Cronley’s signet. GT is still down so I ask here, can Bloodletter’s prefix go on rings? I really hope so
You got Alkamos Rings like that too? I gave up on those already, but Outcast’s Secret is still high on my list of most wanted items. Glad the dungeon is so short, takes only a minute to get from the entrance to her room. I always pay her a visit at the start of each session, before attending to more urgent matters like killing Cronley
Don’t get me wrong. I am happy to use decent rolls. But I get discouraged to run the same rogue dungeon after 3 attempts, let alone 5 and receive nothing. The same goes with legendary MI’s, I only got Sharzul’s Worldeater 2 months ago and I’ve been playing Grim Dawn for years. A slight boost in drop rate chance isn’t too much to ask for.
I don’t even consider them. Especially since you’d want to use both together. Seen the scythe several times, but not one ring. But I think that’s fine if they’re meant to be as rare as a drama-free patch.
It would be nice if they had a chance to drop multiple MI’s instead of just one. Sometimes you’d get 0. Sometimes you’d get 1. Sometimes you’d get 2. That sort of thing.
