Around hellborne and shadowflame mantle doing default attack. Am I right that Fire + Chaos 2h ranged is a bad idea?

Yes, or at the very least, I wouldn’t recommend trying to do dual-damage builds if you’re really not experienced or confident with character building in general.
Go all-in on Fire or all-in on Chaos. Since you mentioned using Hellborne, i’d recommend Fire.
