I’m pretty new to this game and started playing a shaman (now lvl 52), and loving it till now. I’m just not sure on what second class to pick, and having a hard time finding up to date information on this (with all the patches and all). There must be more threads on this, but whenever I try to look it up, my head starts to spin.
Anyway, I want to keep playing a 2H melee build that does lightning damage. I just can’t choose between druid and elementalist. Can someone tell me which of these is superior, or whether I should pick something else?
What about Warder and Vindicator? If you had to choose between the three in ‘most fun’ and ‘most superior’? (I read Warder was nerfed for example, and isn’t what it used to be)
Superior would be Warder or Druid or Conjurer but with a gimmicky playstyle when your main attack is transmuted Primal Strike and you use Savagery just to get few charges for OA/DA/flat damage buffs. I don’t like that playstyle, you might like it, I don’t know.
I would say my classical Ultos Druid is plenty fun and just a bit less powerful then Thunderous Strike versions of melee Ultos.
They are all pretty much the same, because they all utilize almost exactly same set of items and skills. Difference is in how you play it, thru Thunderous Strike with Savagery just for buffs (wonky and awkward imo, but most damage) or thru Savagery and Primal Strike as a nuke (more fluid gameplay, but less damage). I only played my char - Druid, and I like it a lot because you have Mirror and Nulification - pretty useful spells to use. With Vindicator you have to cast Seal and stand it in which some players don’t really like. Warder is the most simple of all three I guess.
Why? Vindicator has inherent OA issues that do not really have a simple solution before level cap. If we’re talking about Primal Strike levelling here then Druid is hands down the easiest to me, because it solves the high energy consumption of PS and has easily accessible OA in Arcanist.
