Help for GD on Linux Mint 18.0 Cinnamon

Hello Grim Dawn Fans,

about 1,5 weeks ago I bought the steam version of Grim Dawn and since then I try to install it on my Linux Machine.
So far I had no Luck. First I tried this guide Here: http://www.gamersonlinux.com/forum/threads/grim-dawn-guide.1032/
I discussed a lot about all kinds of bugfixes and stuff with booman, but still it doesn’t work.
I tried WINE versions 1.7.39staging; 1.8.5 as well as 2.0.
I also tried manually installing vcrun2012 and vcrun2015 and fixing the Registry before starting Steam for the first time.
Today I followed the instructions of a guide in Archlinux found here: http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34333
However still no success.

The game always seems to crash at the very same moment no matter what I do. That moment is, when I launch grim dawn.exe and normally the “Logo screen” would appear. The game crashes and that’s it. No sound, cursor disappears when I put it in that general area.

I’m starting to wonder now. Does Grim Dawn, and especially installing Grim Dawn in it’s current state even work on Linux at all?
If so, every help and tip would be greatly appreciated. Attached you can find my latest logfile from a crash in PlayOnLinux.

Greetings,
Grantuu

It’s working! I reinstalled Steam and GD for the 50th-something time now and it worked! I have no idea why but I honestly really don’t care

Also for some reason I can’t edit my original post thus the reply. Sorry for SPAM

Glad you got it working.

Grim Dawn works pretty well on Linux through wine/steam once you have the necessary libraries installed and it’s gotten better since last year too with Wine improvements
