Help needed: Not able to play online, LAN is the only network adapter available.

I cannot connect to any multiplayer games. I checked the network settings in game, and Local Area Network is the only available option. Previously there were 2 options, one for LAN, and one for my wired connection network adapter.

I have been playing Grim Dawn since early access on steam and multiplayer has worked fine during that time, its always worked.

I’ve tried just about everything I can think of, including: checking the port forwarding on my router, resetting game settings to default, restarting my PC, resetting my router and modem, restarting steam, and updating my network drivers. I even tried reinstalling the game, and it didn’t seem to do anything.

I have Internet access, and speeds are normal. I can’t think of anything that has changed in the past few days that would have caused this.

Has anyone else ran into this issue, and if so can you offer any advice?

problem solved:

I must admit I might be an idiot…

Somehow the LAN option was selected in the Join menu. I switched it over to Internet, and it solved my issue.

I am not sure how it was selected in the first place, unless i mindlessly clicked it while switching from single player to multiplayer modes.

I hope if someone runs into this, that they don’t feel like I do right now. Hope this helps someone, although I’ll give others more credit than myself on this major oversight.

Happy hunting!

I saw this thread the other day while trying to fix this issue, and everything seemed to be okay in regards to what was mentioned in this thread.
