I would like some help and feed-back to make my build a bit stronger. This pyromancer is my very first toon. I choose this particular combination completly randomly, because the concept seemed appealing Originally it was a DW gunslinger build but I was not really happy with the gameplay. I dropped by chance early a Grim Fate sword and decided to switch to melee, and thanks to the legendary sword it was pretty easy to reach ultimate. But now I feel it not so resistant anymore and I would like to be able to tank a bit more.
I have a green shield who doesn’t want to show for some reasons. The playstyle is pretty easy so far: just get close and start hitting with Firestrike and BWC (linked to Meteor). Thermite mine is there for RR. On the defensive side, I have Blast shield, Giant Blood and Blood of Dreeg. I have tried to get resist as high as possible, but maybe I need more for ultimate. I guess I should farm for better gears, as I was quite unlucky so far (execpt for Grim Fate).
I think devotions need some optimization. Maybe get rid of Magi (and lose some dps) and try to pick some more defensive ones. But I don’t know which way to go. Wayward Soul (should be easy to grab)? Turtle? Targo for more HP and shield usage? Ghoul for life leach?
I like the Korvaak-Empyrion-Chthon theme so didn’t try it myself :D.
But surprised to hear Belgo doesn’t affect Blast Shield but yeah makes sense. IIRC Markovian doesn’t reset Menhir either so I guess this makes sense
Thank you all for your answers. I had already seen the threads you are mentioning and unfortunately I still miss the items to complete them. In the meantime, I will try to be a bit more specific and hope you can give me some answers.
All your builds are chaos-based because you have a tons of fire to chaos conversion. Unfortunately I don’t have Darkblaze, Voidheart or Entropic coil. So I am going the Fire way, using Meteor Shower as it is a monster (btw, physical damage on it gets converted by items and skills, right?). I should try to stack more resistance reduction maybe, definitely grab viper but I am not sure about Vulnerability. Would it be better than Thermite mine?
I am not so sure about the devotions. Since I already have Ulzuin’s Torch, getting abomination would be easy compared to Dying god, but the latest would probably be more powerful. Not sure what I should do. Defense-wise, is Phoenix worth it in this build? Fire/Burn damage combined to flat damage absorption sounds appealing at least. And it gives me some purple to get Chariot of the dead… My god, so many possibilities!
In terms of skill, I should maybe respec and focus more on firestrike as the main damage, and use BWC for debuff only. So remove some points their and keep only agonizing flame. Which means trying to max Solael’s Witchfire first for attack speed and flat damage and Possession for damage and damage absorption. Then Vindicative Flame would be third and Flame Touched last. Or would you spread points equally into them?
Component wise, I don’t have Seal of the Void yet (any clue where to get the recipe or is it completely random? No farming spot?). So far, I was using Enchanted Flint on both shield and sword for Fire/Burn Damage, maybe I should put a Riftstone in the shield for chaos strike. For the rest, should I focus on completing resistance first? For the rings/amulet/medal, I went for Corpse Dust so far for more Health. Would it be better to focus on DA/Resist?
Finally, I just finished Elite and can go in Ultimate. Mobs are a bit tougher there, meaning it would be quicker to farm in Elite. What is the best strategy to get Legendary? Doing roguelike dungeon in Elite? Or I would get better drop chance doing the normal story and quests in ultimate?
Gameplay-wise, it is a melee build using Firestrike with Grim Fate, and spamming BWC on cool-down.
I feel to squishy. My opinion is:
-I need more HP
-I can optimize a bit the resistance (via the augment probably)
-I need better gear!!! But I do with what I have.
-I am not sure about the devotion. My plan is to mix fire and chaos (I am a pyromancer after all…), so Meteor and Dying God. Do I sacrificing too much to get both? Also is the skill attribution good enough?
-I have prioritize the flat damage bonus (Flame touched, Possession, Soleal’s Witchfire) to get the best out of firestrike. Would it be better to go for blackwater cocktail first?
I have read the build mentioned before, but now I need to optimize my build to farm the gear for them.
