Higher level playing with a lower level

I am wondering what would happen say a level 10 playing with a level 30 in a multiplayer game. Reason I ask is my wife doesn’t play much, I play a lot more and I don’t want to restart again for the umpteenth time.

Will the level 10 scale up or will she be at a big disadvantage since I am level 30.

Not really sure, don’t have much experience in MP but I know for sure it won’t scale her up.

My guess is either A) the monsters are scaled to the hosts level, B) the monsters are scaled to the highest players level, or C) the monsters are scaled to the average of your levels.

Also keep in mind, you have to be within a certain level range of monsters to gain any XP. So if you are too high or she is too low… no XP.

Might be better off making a new character, only takes an hour or so to hit level 30 if you rush the main quest line, should be about level 15-20 by the warden easily.

Yeah this is pretty spot-on. Ive played a lot of multiplayer and tried almost everything. You cant gain much, if any, XP from monster kills if the level disparity is too big. You still get the XP from completing quests in those games and reading lore notes
