in terms of DPS, which caster build would yield the highest DPS ? I know its probably a glass cannon build in that case and thus kiting is required.

You loose RR and cast speed as WH. Another option is PB infiltrator nuker. Probably oupie too.
If you want non glass cannon, aside from the above I can recommend Drain Essence Uroboruuk Apostate.
The above kill very fast though. Shotgun is king
Wait I must be missing something but how on earth is a PB build a glass canon? Especially the Vitality variant. I meant even something as weak as Pierce PB can leech a boss
Only lightning quick/crit jacks has lesser sustain among the ones mentioned in my experience and that is if you decide to go with Elementalist (I hate totem on casters so Word of Renewal is much more preferable). But even that is not glass cannon
Something like AAR or even a Mortar Trap build is what I’d call glass cannon

Adding to what Fluff said about shotgun I’d like to point out that Chillspikes+RoH and WK Might+RoH are pretty solid as well

There is no cannons in AAR. its simply suck at delivering dmg.

WH has a RR on Vulnerability. Cast speed also mostly already capped.

fire puncher is best build in the game. Don’t equip a weapon and use fire strike to wreck havoc
I think he means that Vulnerability has slightly lesser RR than Spectral Wrath
Alternating b/w PB and Rune of Hagarrad. I have a Pierce variant of the concept posted here (that I should probably update :eek:). The cold variant is naturally superior
I recently posted a Vitality Decay caster that utilized 2x Bone Harvest as a nuke. We also have Superfluff’s Bleedblade where PB is a nuke and finally JoV’s Bolter for his DEE WH. Why am I bringing this up? Cause that’s what shotgun is in this scenario - a nuke
Skills like Dreeg’s Evil Eye, Dreeg’s Afflicted Spines, Dreeg’s Infinite Gaze, Rune of Hagarrad, Rune of Kalastor, Canister Bomb, Trozan’s Sky Shard etc.
All are examples of strong DoT skills with very potent shotgun potential. While its true DoT from each projectile doesn’t stack but these skills possess a significant amount of non-DoT damage and have considerable nuking capabilities.
That’s why he said DoT and Shotgun are “friends”

On a serious note it’d be great if Crate could animate some fist like projections that can be used to punch our enemy. Kind of like Vire but in a punching motion
But its insta applied and thats more than compensate for few % lower value.

I am of the opinion that Reaper<Witch Hunter purely due to QoL. If it weren’t for MoT I wouldn’t even bother recommending Reaper at all
First of all Reaper for PB is flat vitality and decay(and damage reduction), not RR and cast speed
