Does anybody know if it can drop on Normal? The beast’s max level there is 74. It surely drops lvl 75 epics occasionally. Killing him on Elite with my poor classless char is taking forever. And I badly need his non-mythical horns. Did a few runs so far - no luck. I can put in some hours into it if there’s even a 1% chance.
So, can it drop on Normal?
Short answer: No
Better answer: You can check the drop chance for each item on Grimtools. In this case, go to Ekket’zul’s entry in the monster data base, click on Notable Loot, then click the “100” on top of the attributes window to change his level. You’ll see that he has to be at least lvl 75 to drop the helmet.
So the beast has to level 75 at least and has a whopping 50% chance to drop the horns? That’s actually pretty good! Even if it takes me 20-30 min to kill him lol. Thank you!

Is there any visual change on Ekket’zul’s head when he has the helmet equipped?? 11 kills (Elite) so far, no dice! Taking him down is taking quite a bit of time.
Visual changes only appear on humanoid enemies. Anything outside of that will not show equipped items.
