How about Cadence, Forcewave or Blade Arc support for Blood Knight instead of CS?

Blood knight is a good set that can be used for various Necro builds. But not for Death Knight the set was made for. This is going on since forever. Every Soldier BK build pales in comparison to any double vitality rr class BK build focused around Bone Harvest. Single vitality rr%, especially when it’s not a Swarm value, is just too much to overcome, and the set is trying to do it with a Counter Strike support?

  • It’s a retal skill
  • Counterattacking has nothing to do with the vibe of the set
  • The mod is very bad anyway, and never feels like it does anything for the Death Knight
  • The set has a big attack speed bonus but doesn’t support any attack

Everything about CS part of BK is just weird.

I suggest to shift the CS support of the set to any other Soldier skill with bleeding - Blade Arc, Cadence or Forcewave. Blade Arc would be the most welcomed as it fits in the set vibe the most.

A retal blade arc would work well with this set

how so? the set uses 4 slot for 0 retal dmg, and vitality retal/rata is extraordinarily scuffed

ngl, the prospect of another blade arc/cadence set doesn’t sound “exciting”, but maybe it’s what’s needed to make vitality blade arc finally semi decent/slightly less meme?
On the otherhand pink Forcewave sounds kinda fun tho, if nothing but atleast visually

and as “counter”, since the CS mods are kinda novel, i’d propose to keep them, while adding in the pink forcewave or blade arc stuff

I’m not sure I see how shifting the skill support deals with the RR issue that you brought up…I guess active damage could make for faster boss/SR kills, but it’s still an odd way to frame the argument in favor of this change. Personally I think vitality damage needs to be reworked so that celestials are slightly less resistant (100-110 resist would keep the theme of being more or less immune intact) and that Swarm needs a nerf to the vitality RR portion of the spell. Fixing individual sets and items is just slapping a bandaid on the issue. The fact that no other -%RR in the game comes close to Swarm speaks volumes about where the damage type is at as a whole; it’s pretty much Swarm or bust if you’re looking for meta speed celestials.

As for it not fitting the “vibe” of the set, I guess? I’ll admit that it’s a little odd that the set doesn’t provide any flat retal alongside CS bonuses, but CS mods are fairly rare/weak as-is and I was personally happy to see one on this set.
