How can I make Shaman/Soldier more interesting and dynamic to play?

I usually like to experiment with builds on my own so I’ve not looked at any guides for Grim Dawn. However, I would very much appreciate some tips on making the Warder a little more involved, as right now the only active skills I have and use are Savagery for L and Primal Strike for R.

Currently level 25. I’ve looked over the skills for both classes but nothing has really jumped out as all that different from what I’m already using. Any help would be great.

Get storm totems and Blitz, that should keep you occupied

as malawiglenn said + maxing raging tempest

Primal Strike + Thunderous Strike, Wind Devil + Maelstrom, Ultos constellation.
Should be helluva fun

Thanks for the replies. If I were to make another character, is there a class that pairs particularly well with Shaman?

I don’t think there’s any class combination that doesn’t work at this point. But if you lack gear then I’d suggest going for Conjurer - Shaman + Occultist. Go for the Vitality route for maximum fun.

depends on playstyle, Shaman is pretty good at both melee, summons, ranged and casting. You can try my Rune of Haggarad Vindicator build http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79103 or Stupid Dragons two-handed melee Elementalist http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66518 or a Ranged 2handed shotgun Elementalist http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52296 (bu Mournslayer)

note: the elementalist builds are for an earlier patch so they are not 100% up to date, but still very good information and builds

Occultist pairs best
