It’s just a quick question I was wondering, and I’ll make up the math so it’s very easy for anyone who answers and has a similar question to understand.
Say I have Callidors Tempest right? Let’s say it uses 25% Weapon Damage as part of the spell.
Now I have Solael’s Witchfire which provides 100 Vit Damage (Making this numbers up don’t forget)
Now does 25 Vit damage go into Callidors Tempest as opposed to the full 100?
The opposite is also true, skills with a lot of points can end up with +200% (And much higher) weapon damage. In this example, it would add 200 vitality damage from Solael’s Witchfire.
For example: I have 100 flat chaos damage from a devotion. I also have 500% chaos damage. Does the above mentioned CT deal an additional 25 or 125 chaos dmg?
Are you certain? I thought it would do 125 because you take the 25 and boost it by the 500%+ Chaos Damage, or even the other way around take ( I don’t believe it works like this but still the math ends up the same ) 500 x.25 = 125.
The only thing damage modifiers do is increase the flat damage of every source. They are not a “this skill deals this amount of flat damage and with the damage modifier will deal this much more”, the flat damage on every source is after the damage modifiers have been added to the calculation.
If a devotion has a tooltip that says “+100 lightning damage” then this tooltip has already taken the percentages into account. This is very easily reproducible by going for a constellation that has a % modifier and a flat modifier right after it. Pick the % modifier and you will see the flat modifier increased.
Of course you can do the same with equipping and unequipping gear.
So in short:
Yes, the flat modifiers on devotions are further modified by % modifiers. But the flat modifiers are already modified by % modifiers in the tooltip.
Sorry, I was in a rush. I don’t mean the devotion skills themselves, but some the devotion nodes. For example Bat has a node of 15% chance of X life leech over 2 seconds. Will my wendigo totem (no %wep dmg) proc this, or only skills that have %wep dmg can proc this (greater fireball for example)? Also, as the Bat devotion skill (twin fangs) was a %wep dmg part, can it proc the life leech when it goes off?
15% chance to X life leech for 2 seconds is the same as X Life Leech for 2 seconds. So yes, you need weapon damage to use it. The only difference is that one has chance to activate and the other activates always.
Twin Fangs will deal a fraction of that life leech because it has low weapon damage.
