How does %weapon damage and DOT work?

Does it scale?
If I have a skill that does 50% weapon damage, do I get 50% of the DOT from say, overload, added to each hit? Also, it refreshes the timer if it’s the same damage right? Can I stack multiple elemental damages?

I’m trying a druid, primal strike 2 hand range build and I"m having a blast. I just need to know where to focus my points. If DOT scales on %weapon damage, I feel I should raise that first or at least equally with overload.

I’d would love if someone could give me an easy breakdown of this so I have a good idea how to optimally build my guy.

Thanks! (PS I did try searching the forums and the net, but most articles on this are super old, before DOT could even crit I think…)

Steam people helped me out. I couldn’t find this via tags:

Seems to answer most of my questions.

Hi,

This might help you:http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51898

The short answer to your question is that more %weapon damage means higher DoT applied, especially if you have it on your weapon or flat damage values that apply to your weapon from gear, devotions or skills.

Edit: Ah, didn’t click on your link first
