2500+ in both, but optimally you want them as close to 3k as possible.
I personally always aim for at least 2.7k in both. You rather don’t need more than 3.5 OA, but every point of DA is worth taking. The best is to be at 3000 OA when buffed with permanent buffs, DA 2.9, procs should raise it to about 3.3 OA (for good crits vs. Nemesis, you can try to get over 3.3), and DA, as I said, as much as you can get with no restrictions.
Whenever I make a character and I have something below 2.7k (on non-casters), I either try to fix it or just don’t aim for that particular build. Casters usually have very low DA, like 2.7k at max (some builds can rush it to 3k, but not many, don’t bother), but their OA should be at least 3k.
That’s my point of view.
If I remember correctly OA doesn’t have any effect on your DPS as it’s your “chance to hit / crit” which varies depends on the enemies DA “chance to not get hit / crit” and not how much damage your attack actually does… Now waiting for someone with more game mechanics knowledge to post and prove me wrong
OA can increase your dps if it’s much higher than your enemy’s DA. Like, when the orange and dark orange crits happen.
Well yes it increases the amount of the crit, but it doesn’t change the sheet DPS…though now I type this I realise that it was DPS in general and not the number shown on the char stats…knew I shouldn’t typed anything
I think the OP meant the actual DPS sheet number. You are right, OA doesn’t visually increase the DPS sheet number.
Guess i should have been more specific to which DPS i was talking about which was DPS in general. Like, in actual combat.
OA always increases your dps since it increases your crit chance and often also crit damage.
OA scale good up to <3.8k , then it barely do anything. DA give increasing returns and became quite broken past 5K .

A lot of people like to go for big OA/DA on rare boots, pants, and medals from what I’ve seen the very most. Probably because a lot of builds don’t have tailor made gear/set pieces for those slots.
You can get big OA and DA on Epics and Legendaries too though. ‘The Untouchable’ Shield for instance so don’t get dead set on which slots do what.

Well the more damage you do the more effective your ‘attack damage converted to health’ is for one. So 9% can feel pretty decent late game as your damage out-scales your HP and you get more tanky through mitigation (resists, armour, DA, etc.) rather than a high health pool.
Class skills (like Wendigo totem or Feral Hunger in Shaman tree), haunted steel component, devotion points, devotion procs, and some items like rare rings or a Warpfire amulet can give pretty huge values of life leech alone or when combined. Once again it’s tough to just give you a number to shoot for as some build are cool with no leech and some just roll around with 40%
As for me, the minimum amount of Life Leech is 10%. Maximum 20%. But you can go with a full lifesteal build if you want. If you have other sources of health regen, like health regen itself or Siphon Souls, or even Wendigo Totem, lifesteal is not needed (we can even say that it might be useless). If you desperately want life steal (or life leech, that’s the same), get Haunted Steel (you’ll lose up to 10% damage if you don’t focus on Vitality - physical damage converted to vitality, but will gain a massive lifesteal buff).
Anything past 5K DA is pretty much overkill.
