Wondering how much physique I need on a Blade Arc (DoT) Witchblade, which may at some point be converted to Cadence (but irrelevant for this).
With my tree points the base will be 380 physique, 321 cunning, 269 spirit. Looks like the highest physique requirement for armor is 970.
With 1 point in Veterancy and +3 skills, that’ll be another ~100 off, so 870.
1 point in Military Conditioning with +3 skills is 6% physique, so assuming 50 points that would be (508)+380=780. 7801.06=826.
870-826=44. I’m assuming this can be easily made up with physique on gear or 2-3 more points in Military Conditioning, or just Bull giving another -10%.
So a clean 50 physique should be enough to wear all the ‘heaviest’ gear with the rest in Cunning for more damage and crit chance. My question is (this is a calculation I haven’t done and don’t really know where to start), will this be enough DA to avoid being crit? That’s my biggest concern. TIA
Don’t forget about spirit for jewelry. You can probably get some via equipment and devotion, but you might want to set aside a few points just in case. The highest spirit requirement for jewelry that I’ve seen so far is 340 on Mark of Anathema, but since you’ll be unlikely to wear that, you’ll need around 326 to wear 99% of all the jewelry. The Dryad constellation also gives -10% spirit requirement for jewelry if you find yourself short on Spirit.
You probably won’t have enough DA to avoid being crit by EVERYTHING (ultimate Mogdrogen, I’m looking at you), but having about 1.9k prevents being crit by moderate-level trash enemies like rotting soldiers, 2k prevents being crit by almost all trash, 2.1k is good for preventing most non-boss crits, and 2.2k will prevent most bosses from critting you. This is based on a loose estimate of two of my characters in Ultimate. Unless you’re aiming to play hardcore, somewhere around 2k is a reasonable place to aim. I usually aim for enough physique to hover somewhere around 2k DA and around 10k hp (slightly more hp for melee characters).
If you use the Grimtools website you can “equip” whatever armor and weapons you’d like to wear and choose your devotions and see where your stats fall into place afterward. Since there’s no way to reset attribute points at the moment, that’s how I do all my build planning.
It should be noted that in crucible, especially at gladiator difficulty, you need to add about 200 DA (not sure about the exact number right now) to all those can’t-be-crit values. Things have higher stats in there and you might be surprised, thinking you are safe.
Only BM can pull off high DA and high cunning. I’d invest AT LEAST 50% in physique.
What you are doing now was a theory was a theory that also intrigued me long ago but hit a wall. Your WB will be fine without being concerned about cunning. I posted such a build here if it helps
