How much reflected damage taken reduction is enough to be able to ignore or out-regen it?

I was just wondering if someone with late endgame experience could let me know how much reflected damage reduction is enough to ignore the mechanic, or at least out-regen it or not have it kill you in 2 secons :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m asking because my build has about 40-50%, is that enough to suffice or would you need to get it much higher to be somewhat safe from reflected damage?

just means you need to have a bunch of sustain or mitigation
caveat being it depends on the build/dmg type, as bleed is a lot easier to tackle on reflect than trauma/physical dmg because you can’t stack 86resist + overcaps on it
on something like a 2h physical cadence build where i can straight up 1shot myself on reflect, i’d like to get 100% reflect reduct, or as close to where i no longer 1 hit kill myself on a cadence crit

So as your damage gets crazy high, on HC you’ll need close to 100% chance to not randomly die from instant death to reflect? I wish GD was better here than in PoE.

I think reflect would be a more fair mechanic, if the reflected damage was always dealt over time and was capped to a % of your total life per second. Instant unavoidable deaths is just bleeh

to be fair, reflect is fairly well telegraphed, so if someone is a silly inattentive gnome and 1shots himself on reflect, it’s kinda his own fault
aside from the ā€œoops didn’t spot you in the crowdā€ scenarios, you can bait out reflect buffs and just wait a couple of secs until it wears off, then go to town
imo, if you die to reflect, you’ve messed up on several things at once with your character/piloting

As much as you can reasonably get I’d say. Even on a dedicated Trauma build with 40+% physical resistance and 86% reflect damage reduction do I occasionally see 1.5k Trauma ticks on myself.

Only exception I’d say to this is dying because your player pets smacked something with Retal too many times while you’re trying to run away and kite .

immortal pets should have a built in automatic insta ā€œstop attack; we hurtz masterā€ function :joy: idono, maybe then add in a 2-3sec confuse debuff and have them walk around confused by what they done for a bit

I’ve only died from reflected damage on phys/trauma and bleed builds (bleed because the DoTs you apply can last like 30 seconds). It’s a niche stat, and even on hardcore, not worth stacking on your run-of-the-mill builds

This.

Usually innate ADCTH is enough to out-heal the damage dealt by reflect. The mechanic pretty much only matters on IT/Bleed builds, and even then, it’s actually more efficient to acquire Bleed Duration Reduction than Reflect Damage Reduction. Internal Trauma is the only real worry, because Physical Resist is rarer than other resists and IT bypasses Armor.

Frankly, raw Physical builds shouldn’t be worrying about Reflect either.

For me, bleed neet 80-100 bleed reduction and about 50% reflect damage reduction, for trauma go with 70-80% reflect damage reduction and as high physical resist you can get, preferably more than 30%.
