How the multiplayer work?

I finally convinced a friend to play this game with me.
I was just wondering if the multiplayer works fine?
I am asking this because the game is based on the same engine as Titan Quest and I remember that back in the day, old TQ had (quite) a few bugs with multiplayer, the type where you map would get reset, quests would only complete to the host and not the other players and even happened to me where one quest in act3 completely bug out and become unable to be completed and I had to use 3rd party hacks to do it.

So… the multiplayer in this game works? Should I be worry about enter someone elses game and mess my quests up and delete my explored map??

Thanks!

It has bugs yes. It has desync yes. It is a lot of fun yes  We have seen NPCs which simply had different life bars depending on who of us saw the enemy, but one of those life bars were correct and he died in the end - which is the only thing that mattered for us.

Quests work the same way as they did in Diablo 2. If the host has the quest completed, you can not complete it. Otherwise it worked fine so far.

What is important to know is that in multiplayer only one person can interact with quest npcs therefore all decisions will be made for the whole party, which is a bit sad but I understand why it is that way.
