How do i get lvl 20(ish) FoA MIs? I see they can go that low on GT but when i skip there on a low level alt they are all lvl 40ish mobs later in the expac. Is there a way to farm the lower level versions of these MIs?
I haven’t tried it, but Shattered Realm might drop them. Or stuff from the Ascended Altar, though getting access to it might take a while (and put you in the level 40 range anyway).
I’ve tried to get level 20 MIs by rushing the campaign to FoA with merit-unlocked riftgates but the monsters dropping them are always level 40 and so are the MIs. No chance to get them legit in the campaign, only way I see is SR and maybe Crucible but I guess it’s an extremely low chance to get the lvl 20 item you want since you’re also leveling up in the process of farming them.
You can’t. They always drop at highest level possible.

FoA maps start at level 36 on Normal, so there is no legit way.
In addition, patch 1.3.0 made MIs always drop at max possible level based on monster level. So, if an MI can drop with levels 20, 40, 55, 74, 84 and 94, if the monster is level 36, the MI dropped will be at level 40.
