How to get unique prefix on Conduit of X Whispers Amulet?

I’m trying to get the ravenous earth prefix on the Conduit of Undying Whispers but no matter how many I craft I havent seen a single prefix.

Like 100 so far. So really I just have to keep crafting them until I get lucky enough to see a unique affix?

There’s 12 of them: Conduit of Undying Whispers - Items - Grim Dawn Item Database
Assuming they all have equal change, you’d expect one after 12, but can easily be 24 or so. 100 is a bit much… that’s more than 8 times the expected amount.
Which one did you want exactly? (There’s 3 or so for RE) Maybe someone else can confirm they got it. Otherwise maybe it’s bugged :thinking:

This would be about 1 in 10000 chance if I’m not mistaken so very unlucky but not impossible :thinking:

did a quick test, my RNG resulted in getting Phys RE prefix on 12th craft, Aether RE prefix on 13th craft and Cold RE on 23rd craft, so they are definitely there

“Only” thing i could imagine to impact it that’s not extreme RNG would be your game not fully updated or with expansions? :thinking:

I can confirm, I did 200 crafts and got several of each prefix.

I would make sure game is updated to latest patch as mentioned.

Can conduits have their affixes changed in FoA with the new mechanic? They should…

that would certainly making fishing for desired res suffix easier on vanilla builds/outside of GDstash theorcrafts

Just to clarify:
Every single one of them should have a prefix. And a suffix.
Just not always the ones you are looking for.

If they actually come out without a prefix, there is something wrong with your game files.

Actually Im not sure why I couldnt see the unique prefix yesterday. Today once I started playing all the amulets I crafted yesterday now have the affixes and I have a few with what I needed. Not sure what could have caused this, I dont have any mods or anything installed.

Verify your game files. RNG can sometimes get bugged like this. I remember trying to farm Okaloth’s Visage. I killed Okaloth close to a hundred times, it never dropped. I verified the game files and got it in half an hour after that. Same thing happened with Rolderathis Tome once.

Just so people know how to do this:
Steam

  1. Right click on the game in your library
  2. Select “Properties…” at the bottom
  3. Click the “Installed Files” tab
  4. Click “verify integrity of game files.”

GOG

  1. Select the game in your library
  2. Click the “More” drop down
  3. Hover the mouse over “Manage Installation”
  4. Click “Verify / Repair”
  5. Confirm the request by clicking “VERIFY GAME” in the pop up

(Providing this because I had to look it up so saving the next not-quite-Taken the hastle.)
