The problem is, i wanna place SOC wherever my cursor is pointing - not the closest enemy to cursor- because it automatically places soc WHERE the enemy becomes the center… this is bad because, sometimes i wanna place soc where enemy is in the edge and other enemies could be also affected. Also if enemy is in the edge, while it is coming to me, it stays in soc area longer etc… So i am losing clear speed or even waves in crucible…
So shortly, i don’t want my aoe spells to automatically target and center exactly below enemies, i want them to place exactly where my cursor shows. Thx!
I don’t think there’s a way but I like that idea especially for sigil/totem and maybe even just AoE skills in general. It’d be far more precise targeting than putting at enemy center, and I have gotten screwed sometimes with big enemies and wendigo where I wanted to put it a little closer to my character under the cursor (ex: ravna) but it put the wendigo right plop in the center of that big fat queen where I then have to stand right next to her to even touch the edge of the aura given by the totem.
Actually for totem/sigil with melee I sometimes wish I didn’t even have to worry about targeting it as an option (like “Auto-Target on Player” making mouse cursor position irrelevant) – that it could just drop the totem right where I’m standing. That would prevent the ability to charge into a mob after putting it in front of them, but I could always charge and then drop right after.
Exactly, they would make it optional with a setting in game tab. Placement is really important cuz this is how you become better in ultimate, it may even save life.
I actually made a rant regarding this the other day. Of how people who really want to roleplay as a traditional caster will find it impossible to clear the game with good mechanics and control. Short answer: you have to build tanky to survive damage you are sure to receive, while making sure you kill the screen fast enough.
