I know this might be a dumb question, but bear with me.
I’m currently in the Homestead area and have a quest in Conflagration. I’ve been noticing a lot of purely green aetherial ridden paths lately that cause a massive amount of damage walking through.
Is there some trick to taking these paths without taking damage? I know there are some resistance type potions but am I missing something bigger?
go around it if you can’t just walk through it and use 1 healing potion if your health is low and oh yea almost forgot do not stand on ather on the ground
Aether resistance, DA (the ground can crit you it seems). Time your health potions, your circuit breakers (like mirror, blast shield, menhir’s will), your heals (Blood of Dreeg, Pneumatic burst)
It’s not Aether damage…it’s straight up degen for % of your life. You can mitigate with % damage reduction or immunity (mirror of E.) or just use health regeneration and your life potions. You can also use an Aether Cluster if you have it and want to walk in aetherfire…
These are both wrong. The ground effects have no type and are %hp, so the only thing that works is completely untyped damage absorption like Mirror and Aether Cluster.
Your best option for getting through those is to run as fast as you can, pop a health potion at 50%, use whatever circuit breakers you have one at a time, and hope for the best.
Pretty much this. Conflagration can be accessed with pretty much any setup, unless there are enemies that stun, freeze or slow you you just need to press a potion at roughtly 60% hp. The trick to Immolation is capped movespeed, timing the potion and taking a break at the sidepath filled with manticores, on HC I always carry Aether Cluster just in case.
It seems that health reduction varies depending on the exact place you are at. On the way to the entrance to immolation it starts with normal ticks but turns to huge ticks close to the door. Then inside there are also places with bigger-than-normal damage.
I had also noticed many irregularities like this, but for now I’m not sure if that’s just aether lava having damage spread like 10-15% your max hp, or some of the areas really doing more damage.
It almost seems like the longer you are on it, the faster it ticks. Of course I’ve never tried to really test this, as I hate seeing deaths on a character.
