That would make “left” and “right” the opposite! 
Make a level 1 Runekeeper on base game, then I’ll head to Asterkarn instead of Malmouth, and finish with Forgotten. I’ll start and finish the Malmouth reputations in elite and ultimate mode. Once I reach level 100, park the toon and make a level 1 Berserker + Runes on Grimarillion. I might even make a Berserker + D3 Barbarian as well, just for kicks.

Since most enemies in Asterkarn should have atleast 50% cold resistance (racial),only makes it more challenging

I like to be prepared with options so I can make last minute choices. So, I have/plan to have:
– some 100’s full cleared Ultimate and ready to go FoA to farm new build enhancing gear.
- some 100’s cleared to the end of Elite to jump into a full Ultimate run.
- a single class cleared normal to start FoA with Berserker.
I’ll pick one of these, play about 2hrs of FoA, then think: "man, I’d rather start fresh for the full experience. So, I’ll start a fresh character or two, trying out different Berserker combos. Then I’ll say screw it, let’s go full SSF and start yet another new alt. Then I’ll run out of weekend or days off work (depending on release) and get back to the game when I can and start something else new.
If prior expansions are any indication!
2600hrs and I only have like 5 100’s, ha, but legions in the 80’s+. Altoholism to be sure.

As blind as possible with the hopes that there is an item that makes birds player scaling so I can berserker/occultist a raven with birds.

It would need to make them immortal
but then pet players could abuse that
so I guess maybe you’d have to also slap -100% Total pet damage on them 
There’s an amulet that makes Reap Spirit player scaled. Not sure why Zantai would stop at just for more pet scaled pets being turned into player scaled with an item.

I’m aiming at buying FoA at Day 1 but first playthrough for me will be after the release of the 2nd new rogue dungeon. 
Question is, how Fangs of Asterkarn will be balance on Ultimate. Will it be a challenge for fully loaded characters? Or steamrolling?
Perhaps it will be interesting to try it both on Normal with roughly 50 lvl char first, then go for Ultimate runs with completed characters.
The new Ascendant mode should be.
Will work in the same way Veteran does with Normal; you choose either Ultimate or Ascendant to play.
