Do you plan to experience it immediately on Ultimate with max level character, or do you plan on creating the new character? Or maybe you want to use existing character, but 40-50 with game beaten on Normal? Do you want to make a fresh character with new mastery? Or maybe something more crazy - prepare a single-mastery character and beat the game on normal, so when the DLC is out you can spect into berserk and go to the DLC at once? I haven’t decided yet what my aproach would be, so I want to discuss it with others a little.
levelling a Berserker(Reaver) ofc
Do a complete fresh start and experience the new content. Level all the way up to 100 and try out Ascended Mode to see THAT content as well.
I will delete my save folder and start fresh. I do that for most patches anyway.
First character will be a Reaver for sure.
I think I may level and gear a character in Elite so I can do a campaign playthrough in Ascendant Mode.
I’ll dust off the ol’ Belgothian Infiltrator to beat the story and get mandates while hopefully finding some Berserker set legendaries to shape the direction I take my first of many Berserker combos.
Of course I’ll wait for Grim Tools update because that’s the actual game. Then I’ll theorycraft, GDStash and test the best builds quickly so that I can publish the guides before mad_lee. Hopefully he gets mad and banned because of that. I don’t plan to ever finish the campaign or know what’s going on in the story as I’m not particularly interested in Grim Tools simulator.
Play on a new save with Berserker from level 1 and use its skills. Speedrun to FoA and new MIs.
I’ll roll a new character and will pick the Berserker class (undecided on the second class).
Probably a bit of everything for me. I already have some characters ready at Fort Ikon for all difficulties, but given altoholism is strong in this one I’ll be starting new characters with the new mastery as well to play. ![]()
How will I approach THE Fangs of Asterkarn?
With care. They are probably very sharp.
Agreed, looking forward to making 10,000+ Double Damage Dealing builds and getting crit sploded by the first encountered Nemesis every time. Woo! @RxJunkie
Probably from Devil’s Crossing, moving from bottom left of the screen to the top right, and always Berserking Berserking Berserking
I’ll approach it on spring, going to the Asterkarn on the winter is begging to be killed by the cold
Don’t think you’ll have much choice if you are in Northern Hemisphere. Southern Hemisphere people might very well get a chance at winter.
Rotate the camera and move from the bottom right to the top left instead to be totally wild, worthy of Berserker class.
That’s the real Grim Dawn 2!
That’s some good business idea for Crate, just rotate the world by 90 degrees and call it Grim Dawn 2. Most players don’t rotate the camera so they might not notice ![]()
Grabbing my (SC) Aether AAR Spellbinder, playing through the FoA on Ultimate, to explore the map, getting used to the new enemies.
Absorbing the “vibe” of the new DLC with a character, which should do splendidly. If no issues with Spellbinder, shooting chars will follow.
When all the new items are displayed in Grim Tools, I am also thinking of re-working my two builds, ranged chars.
Cold Trickster becomes Cold Reaver AND
Chaos Warlock becomes Chaos Primalist.
I tried playing with the camera rotated 180° once (for a new perspective on the game), but it was surprisingly difficult ![]()
the trick is to sit upside down in your chair too ![]()
