Hunters gets stuck and TERRIBLE FPS

Hello all.

Going directly to the point here.

  1. Ive noticed that hunters sometimes gets stuck on “the table” outside the upgraded hunters cabin. They just run on the spot and eventually they get dehydrated and die. Ive tried moving the cabin and ive also destroyed the cabin end built a new one. Very strange…

  2. I have around 4200 villagers and the FPS is really bad. Around 10-15 FPS…
PC-specs: 32GB RAM, GeForce RTX 3080 and Intel i9 12900F. Screen is a 32" Samsung 60Hz. Shouldnt be any problems with these specs…or?

The first comment I’ve noticed as well, seemingly only after the hunting cabin upgrade though.

Can confirm, hunters “walk in place” at outside table after upgrading to level 2. I have to manually move them off it.

I have the bug on tier one hunters.

Could you please upload that save?

Saves are located in:

C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\Saved Games\Farthest Frontier\Save

Zip up the entire TownName_###### folder along with the .map file and .sav that reproduces the issue. If the files are too big, you can use a service such as Google Drive to share it with us.

Thanks!

I use mods does that matter? Also reloading the game fixes the problem for a while.

Yes it absolutely does matter. Does the issue reproduce without them?

Am playing without them right now to test. Will post a save if it happens again. I have to ask why is their idle position so far into the side of the building?

No mods happens in vanilla game.

That’s just them butchering meat with a placeholder animation. Are they starving and dying?

They are stuck in a running animation and do not hunt, until either you manually move them or reload the save. I have never left them long enough to see if they die. Meat production is too important.

Tier 1 hunters work fine for me. They have the running animation inside the building, but they do seem to hunt and do all their tasks as normal.

For Tier 2, I tried watching my guy for a while. He did get stuck on a running animation while “butchering meat” outside. I manually directed him to hunt about 6 deer and he took the meat back and started butchering it outside again, this time with no animation, he just stands there.

Eventually, he did walk to a different location outside and come back and put down Tallow and Meat and continued “butchering meat”.

I observed him for the rest of the year. He “butchered meat” without moving for about 3-4 months before he finally went to Transfer Produced Items. He then checked animal traps, skinned the carcass, and then went right back to hunting. Produced items continually went up through the year.

I think hunters are not actually “broken” functionally, but rather when they hit Tier 2, their animations are broken, thus making them appear broken and like they are stuck or not doing anything? So maybe they just need their animations fixed up so they don’t look stuck.

Hello. Sorry for taking so long replying. Here is the link to the zip.save. Hope it works. The save is placed so that the hunter cabin that i have had problems with is centered on the map. At the moment the cabin is tier 1 wich has eliminated the issue but as soon as i upgrade it to tier 2 the issue returns.

Also this is the same save im having terrible fps on. Ive been monitoring my RAM usage and FF uses roughly around 15-ish-gb of my RAM. I have a total of 32gb. Everything is updated on my PC and i dont use mods.

P.S If anyone wonders about the weird city name its one of the islands in Anno 1800 D.S

Ive had 3-4 hunters die from dehydration. All from the same tier 2 cabin. Died even if i moved the cabin to a different location.

Hello. I just realised that ive uploaded the wrong save… Sorry for being an moron. Here is the correct save. I dont remember where the camera is located on this save but the hunter cabin in question is the only one not upgraded so you should be able to find it.

For the FPS, do you have the FPS in game set at 60? I found that, despite having a 180Hz monitor, setting FPS above 60 or on V-sync ate my FPS (unless it’s running in the background while I do something else on my other monitor)

I get the same bug with hunters running in place on the table off the cabin. This happens when cabin is at tier 2 only.
