I’ve theorycrafted a build that will literally break the game. I’m working on making it a reality right now.
So what should I do? Should I post the build and see it immediately nerfed, or pull a Syndrome (from The Incredibles) and have fun with my invention before I release it to the public?
I really want to share it, but then it would get nerfed into non-existance most likely.
Why would you want to “break” the game you’re playing? If you want to share, do so. If not, don’t. Don’t let people fool you, there’s no reason to think Crate reads the builds on the forums and laughs evilly as they plan to nerf them. They’re not some malicious overlord here, and they can only do so much to balance the game with their few people, and their few playtesters.
You’re missing the ‘and’ of his clause. I doubt there’s much laughing involved. At best, I imagine they produce a sly grin before unholstering their nerf hammers.
I’ve personally found that builds that seem to be OP stop being OP late elite or early Ultimate. Ult is a game changer…I’d make sure the build actually does what you think it does in Ult late game, then grab some vids of your uber clears and post it!
Can’t tell you how many times I’ve worked on a build that was stupendous until i hit Late Elite and got squashed.
Theorycrafting isn’t enough. You have to test it and prove it.
That said I kinda doubt you’ve discovered something literally no one here has thought of or found before. It would be helpful to conduct a thorough “literature review” first before posting anything.
I always found dying multiple times on Ultimate is a good lesson
Maybe he found something that most of us are aware of but unlike us sensible who ones who don’t make a lot of noise about it he is willing to share it (God knows why though )
